Post-crash rebuild and tail is a waggin'
I'm not sure what to do with my Hurri 425. I now have a wicked tail wag that is pretty unexplainable. I don't have any binding that I can see, unless the tail got ever so slightly bent without me noticing. I am running a Hyperion ds20x-GCD for the tail, and an Assan GA-250 for the gyro. Maybe the budget gyro crapped out in the crash? The tail will just wag really hard one way, twitch around a little and swing back really hard the other way. It doesn't matter what gain or ball position I'm running. It's just weird. Please help me. I am running the slightly bigger tail blades because of a lower headspeed. Maybe that has something to do with it? It was pretty solid before the crash though.

...Double check your mechanical set up and setiings just to be sure...if you have another gyro, try that one as well...I have the GA250 on my EXI 450 and it has been rock steady
ever since it was installed. If you dont have another gyro, I'll send you one to try...GY48V or a GAZ 126. Did you check the tail servo for any stripped gears since the crash? PT

No. Haven't checked the servo. I'll do that. I also have an extra GA-250 on hand, since they are so inexpensive. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll post when I get 'er figured out.

How bad was the crash. Could it be something else got damaged?
Agree with PT on checking the tail servo gears. Could be the OWB was damaged and is 'slipping' causing the wag. Maybe a connection on the rx, motor, esc, etc. could have been knocked loose. Just a few thoughts.

My guess would be something is bent (tail rotor shaft ?) and causing a vibe that is upsettign the gyro to cause the wag.

I'll check the OWB and just replace the tail output shaft. I checked it, but it could be bent a couple of thousandths- not visibly though. I may just end up taking her FBL to reduce parts count too. At least then I'd know the gyro was good.

Okay, so I think I got her figured out. Somehow I think when I reprogrammed the gyro I accidentally reset the servo settings to 1520/333Hz. I'm going to redo the setup at lunch today, as my servo is actually 1520/270hz. I feel like such a dummy. I'm not sure how I did that, but I'm pretty sure setting up the gyro properly will remedy this issue- finally.

Okay, so that was not the problem. I must have a high frequency vibration that's screwing with the gyro. I even switched out the gyro. Back to the fault isolation for me.
