Its just the camera angle that makes it appear that way.

Almost done with my vel 90 , but the 2s 5000mha NRG does not fit on top of the electronic tray . Uuuhh the battery does fit but you can not mount the canopy anymore.

Anyone had the same issue ?, solutions , except getting a smaller receiver battery ?

Yes, I had the same problem. I just went to the 3600 for now. I'm still trying to figure something out. I am going to try and use the break away tabs from the 50 and offset the mounts forward a little. See if I can rig something up. If it works, I will post some photos.

I thought I would update the thread as it has been some time. I haven't had a chance to finish the 90 yet (I know I know) until now. Last month I had crashed both my 550 and my 50 (two different Funflies) and for other reasons got alittle burnt out so had stopped flying for a bit. I then wanted to get the 550 and 50 back and flying again before finishing the 50, I hate having multiple machines on the bench. I also converted the 550 to 140ccpm, but was unhappy with the way the horns are connected to the frame so I had my buddy custom make me this bracket.

So after getting both back up in the air and flying flawless my focus shifted back to the 90. I borrowed some epoxy and the Gview from my buddy so I could finish the build. I also decided to change the way I do the boom support supports , one of my buddies at the club does them this way so I cannot claim credit.

I still have to mount the RPM sensor and check my gov settings but hopefully I will maidan it this weekend.

What are good ball park lengths for the two tail pushrods?

I couldn't find any info anywhere. Since those links are such a PIA to take on and off, I want to do it as little as possible.

Here's a tip once you get the correct length set for your machine, it could be off a turn or so from each others due to the mechanical setup when you take the gyro out of HH and set it.

Once I found the correct length, I took a 3/8" dowel and screwed two spare ball links in, then whenever I need to replace the rod, I can easily make it to the same length, use the same one for the rear and you can install a 3rd ball for the length of your Vel 50 tail push rod.
