Default tail pitch slider with ball links very tight fit

Hi Guys,

I just changed my tail pitch slider and the ball links which snap onto the ball screws on each tail blade holder are very tight fit and causing binding in the tail.

what is the best solution to eliminate or reduce the binding.

Are your tail grips/bearings seated all the way? Pull hard outwards on the grips (as if centrifugal force would be applied) to make sure. If that checks out ok and it´s actually the plastic links being to firm, there is a ball link sizer available. I just use an old ball and snap it on the links a few times too loosen the plastic a bit. If still too tight and no sizer available you can scratch an old ball with an exacto knife and "ream" the links with it. Be careful not to end with sloppy links.

tail grips/bearings are seated all the way

the plastic links are the problem. One seems to fit pretty nicely but when I go to put on the second one it has to be forced to go into position. When you pop the links onto the ball you end up getting resistance when you move the grips left and right.

I´ve bent misaligned plastic parts into position with the help of a hairdryer/hot air gun before. Sometimes parts get out of shape during shipping.

One other thing to check for-- once I had a hub that would bind only when rotated at a certain orientation on the tail shaft. I used some 600grit paper to smooth/even out the inside of the hub (which is brass), and that fixed it.

I ended up getting the shits and changed to a new set of tail rotor grips with thrusted bearing

everything is running smooth again.

I love the way the MSH Protos fly's but the quality of some of their parts its absolutey shit house.

I use to own Align Trex 500 and never had run into any issues like this.

I have to agree. I have at least 300+ flights on my T-rex 500 DFC PRO with zero issues except for a slipping main gear on the one way bearing which was my assembly fault, accidentally left out a spacer

My mate at the field has has a few tail reliability on his Protos 500 as well.
