I agree, I will not buy Gens Ace now either. Until they lower their prices again anyway. There is too many other good upcoming brands for cheaper. Pulse, Thor, exc. Gens Ace needs to remember they are a middle of the road brand and cant charge too much or I might as well just buy Hyperion or the like as we all know they are far better.

Re: What the _ _ _ _, Gens Ace big price increase?
Yep, I just bought 2 new Thor batteries, as well as a new pulse ultra to make a matched set for a mis matched set I got recently in a heli deal
Gens ace lost my loyalty

What the _ _ _ _, Gens Ace big price increase?
Revolectrix is another well priced quality pack has anyone tried them? Amainhobbies has the Diamond label and they will be offering test drives of this battery at their FunFly this coming May. I thought that was a bold move it got my attention but haven't tried them yet. If I don't become compelled to try the before May I definitely will take the test drive.
Don't mean to derail the thread. I am still interested in the price increase topic as well as the alternatives topic

What the _ _ _ _, Gens Ace big price increase?
It's not a derail. I think a lot of us, are now looking for alternatives to Gens Ace. The only time I buy them now, is if someone is selling theirs. And if you are still wanting to buy them brand new, they are never in stock.
I would like to hear what people's experiences are with other packs that compare. I hear the Thors are comparable with a warranty. Should get to experience them soon. I will post my opinion after trying them. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk

I've given up on GensAce now. They're just never in stock. I'm going to move on. If they get a new US distributor, I'll take a look at them again.

hey guys you'll have to take it with a pinch of salt. China manufacturers have a limited capability and of course if distributors need to pay cash upfront before manufacturing packs ~ 8 weeks + shipping to USA (~6 weeks) guys like Hobbyparts its always hard to be in stock especially with such a big range of packs on their site plus the cash outlay too.
We try our best to always be in stock as we assemble the packs on day of the order from raw cells which gives us more flexibility but i understand Hobbypartz being out of stock as its always hard to predict what you need/when and with 12 weeks lead time for them its even harder.

Some of the guys here in Aus have waited 2-3 months for your packs John, no explanation either... Payed upfront also.

I ordered a 6S 5000 pack and got it within 2 weeks, so I can't see what the problem is. When you guys get together and want to order a multitude of packs and leave it to one person to take care of, that's where you get into trouble. Order them yourself and you won't have the middle man dramas you guys are having.

exactly. you went through an aussie dealer who doesn't stock. he bulked up all your buddies orders and then once he went online to our store we were out of stock and thus you had to wait. i think i have explained this on an aussie forum before. not much we can do in that case if your dealer 1. does not stock, 2. takes time to lump all your mates orders together into one shipment and by they time he goes onto our website its out of stock.
Out site tells you whats in/out of stock and typically we ship out 2 - 3 days after the order is recieved and packs are made up

All the orders I have placed (charger + 2 sets of batt orders) were shipped out within 2-3days. Perfectly reasonable since they are assembling the packs for you.

I did the same. Have two packs of Glaciers on the way. The battery supply for this hobby is not very stellar.

I'm currently doing a head-to-head comparison of a pair of Revolectrix 3S 2200 against a pair of ThunderPower 3S 2250 packs; one of each is treated like a queen (always charged at 1C - always kept at storage charge - and only discharged 70 to 80 percent, whereas the other 2 are always discharged to LVC (9.9v) - always kept fully charged - and always charged at 3C. The "winner(s)" will be the packs that deliver the most mAH over their lifetime (which I've decided will be when they've dropped 1/3 of their capacity). Results so far are interesting ... I'm up to 30+ "abuse" cycles on 2 of the batteries, with no significant loss of capacity in either yet (infact just yesterday - on flight 33 - the Revolextrix battery delivered a full 100% capacity). Also interestingly, the Revolextrix batteries have delivered over 100% of their rated capacity on several occasions, whereas the (doube-the-price) ThunderPower batts haven't delivered their rated capacity even once. You can view the spreadsheet here if anyone is interested: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...0E&usp=sharing

I've found shipping time to be extremely reasonable considering where they have to come from, and there is no middle man mark up either. But I'm in Oz.
