old school axe cp radio upgrade
my boss got a max cp years ago(first model year) and he hasnt had the correct area and skills to fly it, he gave it to me today because he is moving and it takes up too much space.
it has the fm radio in it and has the worst interference i have ever had to deal with, i have 5 years experience and have only flown 4 channel fixed pitch heli's, and am exited to enter into the cp heli's. what is my "best bet" for moving over to a 2.4G radio system? i noticed that it is a 5 channel and not a 6 channel radio, all ive seen is radio systems for 6 channel heli's, can theses 6 channel radio's run a 5 channel? i have never felt the need to upgrade any of my 4 heli's because they are all 2.4G radios. i dont want to break the bank with just a radio. i do not plan to put all my heli's onto one radio, just want to upgrade the axe cp. |

I have one also...
Seems these had a bad PCB problem from the get go..if you have one that flies right your one of the lucky ones, was looking at mine today trying to decide what to do with it,battery is beyond help and not cheap,I have a DX8 and read that some guys put a different receiver in them and then the "bugs" were gone..still thinking about this..also found out some years ago somebody on another forum made a belt drive conversion for a while..LOVE to find one of those..let me know how you do with this one..got mine used and its so twitchy I cant fly it..and after seeing a new PCB is about 80.00 Ill pass on that.. Seems like the full size AXE CP dont have many good points to it but for me I like the size, not as big as my 450 but bigger then my micro...
