Default X4

I have an x2, x5, and an x7 on preorder. I have always loved my guai's and I am thinking of getting the x4.

My question is, what issues, if any, does the kit have? Do I need to plan any upgrades during the build? My other GAUI helis were a joy to build.

Lastly, what esc motor combos are people running? The FES super combo isn't available state side yet.

I am considering a build too....
The motor size will be similar to other 500's
Say a Scorpion 3226 - 1400kv and around 70 amp controller will do the trick.
The combo in the build thread I saw showed an older Scorpion 3026 vs the new 3226, its fairly close to the servos so I hope the slightly larger motor diameter wont be an issue. There are also the Hyperion (Scorpion made) 3026 motors.

Thinking of getting one also. I am surprised no one replied yet. There are a few post about the main gear design being from the old 425 kit. Is that a bad thing? Any weak link with this old set up?

Also, what is the "perfect" battery to use with this new X4. I see one latest youtube vid with specs posting at the end, saying 3300mah 25C 22.2v was used. That will be great for me since I have 6 packs of GensAce 3300mah for my 600e Pro. I was kinda disspointed with my new T-Rex 500efl, thinking I can use my 3300 in it, but way too heavy. I still have to buy some 3000 for it. I want to minimize my battery selection/collection - what I have now, while maximizing their use on 2 helis.

Yeah I am planning to use my Hyperion 2950s from my fusion and give the fusion a much needed battery upgrade.

BUMMER. I guess I'll just stick with my 500efl and my old 3000mah packs for it.

The prices should start coming down soon, then it will start selling better.

When they realize Align rules these markets and they need to be competitive... It's strange I watch these companies try to compete then price their products sky high. To get people to bite, they'll have to offer incentive to choose over other models already well established with very good dealer support. I have a new Align 500 efl pro and it is great, fit and finish has been outstanding with aligns recent releases and dealer support is literally everywhere. I really like the gaui line and want to try its just a hard sell for me.
