They are available at the Compass Shop. I think these are not the latest updated grips that Sebastian was mentioning since the part number appear to be the same as the ones on ProStarHobby which are out of stock.

I might upgrade to the latest grips including bearings once these become available. I am also getting the new canopy. Hopefully I can order the new grips, the canopy, and some spares (FBL rods, etc.) in one go.

Yeah, so would I. I mainly hope they become available during the winter months since I won't be flying it by then. I cannot recall the details, but I thought Seb mentioned a discount for current Chronos owners to make the upgrade. That will be nice, as I am sure they will be a little pricey. Wasn't exactly cheap to upgrade to the Chronos, although I am very happy I did.

Yes Sebastian did mention current Chronos owners will be getting a discount. I intend to keep flying the Chronos even in winter... At least when it is just single digit Celcius below zero.

The Chronos is amazing... It is always a rush when I fly it... Amazing how the basic design evolved from 7HV to 7HVU (tail and main gear) to Chronos (head and main shaft).

I pound on my Chronos and my grips are fine. They are centred as per the illustrations.

Mine are centered as well. I took it that the groove in the grip which engages the rib of the blade holder has the potential to fatigue crack. I cannot imagine it ever happening on mine. I believe the stress level is a function of the servo torque. My servos have about 1/2 of the torque of common current HV servos.

Acidla - for some reason, your link simply goes to the main Compass website.

Better to go to the thread. Where the link is inside. LINK

Problem is, there's been no update as to when the grips will be available and for what cost.

New grips and other parts in production. A production batch of like 250 kits and parts is not made in like 6 weeks but we are close.

We recovered most parts now and fill up the stock now.

By the way we still have only 2 cases with cracks and thats way less than 0.1% of all arms made.

Exclamation

Indeed. I bet those were very high torque, fast servos as well. I had forgotten of the solution of filing a small bevel on the edge of the groove to relieve the stresses. I will do this post season, which is fairly soon.

For sure, though, flying my model since Chronos upgrade has been exciting with out any problems. Renewed excitement for flying it.

Chronos Tech upgrades are included in this stock?

Any word on the grips Sebastian? I am patiently waiting here in Australia for my kit to turn up from redgumRC but he says he is still waiting on Compass to send his orders with the updated blade grips.

I am just keeping an eye on mine... So far I detect no problems after a few dozen flights.

I wouldn't worry about it one little bit. I fly my Chronos very hard, in fact I crashed it very hard also, bending the blade grip arm.

There is no fracture what so ever.

When you do up the screw the m3 bolt it only needs to be nipped up and your done.

If you don't want your blade grips arms please send them to me. I'm happy to take em
