The Align 250 FBL head would probably be your best bet.

Only interested in the head. Likely going with the Skookum 720 for the electronics. A review of the Mikado conversion would be much appreciated.

That will be a tight fit. The only way I could fit my 360 in my little TRex was to take it out of the plastic case.

I'm using the microheli head. Not too expensive and works well.

Rick,

Skookum says "...good holding power even on 250-size helis..." That seems to imply that the 720 will fit the 250.

Like you, I have a 500 ESP and the RJX head (still in bag). I will likely get the MH head for the 250.

Thanks

I believe the 720 is smaller than the 360 so maybe it will fit. Will be a tight squeeze though.

it would fit - I've been checking the measurements. The only thing is you would have to space the lower frame halves out further by a few mm to accommodate it. That will also require longer screws.

Of course you don't want the thing to be in contact with the frame sides either because that'd be vibration fantastic, so all in all you'd probably have to space the lower frame out by at least 2-3mm both sides.

The MicroHeli head comes with two aluminum straps that provide a wider opening at the back of the frame. I got an extra few mm by cutting and pasting CF to open up the back for the controller.

No matter how you approach it, it is going to be a very tight fit. And, you have cables to manage as well as the receiver sat.
