That's ok it wont hurt anything...if 40% gives you the 7degs you want then 40% it is.

Once you fly it and get a feel for it you may be happy with 7deg however as you have already done you can increase or decrease to your liking. But you will find that you will probably be flying in atti mode most of the time.

Where to start?? Keeping in mind that you have already setup the naza here are some things for you to do..Using a DX8 like me..
First, make sure your TX settings for ail. elev and rudder travels are at 100% That's cause you have [1servo] set for your TX swash type.
Second, go into the DR/Expo menu of the TX. Make sure that the ail. elev and rudder are set to 100% for all positions.
Third, set the expo for ali elev and rudder to 20%
This will give you a good feeling bird in atti/gps mode You can adjust to your feel later.

My trex 600 esp with the naza is in a MD500 fuse and flys like a dream
Now,, the naza will not work or act right in atti/gps modes while on the bench so don't worry about it.
While in the air and in atti/gps mode the naza will only allow a 45 degree max angle in any direction and the collective will not be as quick as in manual mode by default.. You need to keep in mind that the naza was built for beginner pilots..
Now go into the setup software and set the cyclic ring to 40%.. This is how you reduce the cyclic throw.
You can not take off in atti/gps mode but you can land with it. I land in atti every time.
So just lift a few feet off the ground and flip to gps mode and let it hover. The naza will hold altitude given, so even if you are already in atti/gps mode and the altitude is locked, as soon as you give or take away collective it while lock at that point so feel free to play with it.
I'll check in on you tomorrow.

Ok currently its set up as above but with cyclic ring @ 70
Roll rates @ 140º
Collective pitch @ -4 0 4 8 12 same as I have it on my 500

Still waiting on esc and bec so not ready to maiden couple weeks.

I had ring @ 40 but was not sure that was correct way to reduce cyclic pitch

Don't worry about the pitch... you will be flying in atti mode most of the time and the naza will only allow 6.5 degreers..
How have you been powering the system up to now since you have no esc and bec? If you under or over voltage the naza you can fry it.!!!
Also the software setup does not function the same without being connected to a powered up naza. You will not see the same perimeters if it is not connected to the naza.
PM me when you get things ready and I'll walk you through it. Maybe Skype video.

Set the ring to 40%... I've already been down this road.. Under 40% and it seems not to have the amount of throw it needs to work the cyclic in atti/gps mode. It wobbles trying to catch itself with corrections.
