Customer Service
Can someone direct me to someone that might give me instructions as to where to send my dead Jive for repairs? I have emailed a fellow named Charles at Kontronik twice so far in three days and no response.
Thank You |

Rene,
I just went back and checked through my emails and your email had been snagged by the junk mail folder. I am replying to you now via email, so further emails should come through with no problems. Charles |

Thank You sir. I have an address in Tenn. to send it to. I have a cover letter and my purchase receipt. Is this OK and do you require anything else?

For other non-US Kontronik customers (I'm in Australia) I'd like to tell you about my recent good customer service experience.
I totaled my Logo 600SX at the end of last year because of what I believed was a problem with the Helijive. The capacitors on the Helijive were damaged in the crash. I am a loyal Kontronik customer and only fly Kontronik motors and ESC's. So, I spoke to the Australian Kontronik distributor, Modelflight http://www.modelflight.com.au/ and we agreed I should put in a warranty claim, which I did. After sending my dead Helijive to Modelflight, with the appropriate paperwork and sob story, Modelflight sent it on to Kontronik in Germany. Time passed and then I received a service email from Kontronik shortly followed by a FedEx tracking email from Kontronik saying a new Helijive was on its way, replaced as a gesture of goodwill. I have spent thousands on Kontronik equipment and was very happy with this gesture as is often the case with heli electronics, it isn't always possible to 100% blame one particular component. So, thanks Kontronik and Modelflight.

You guys are lucky to get some sort of warranty from Kontronik. My experience with Kontronik recently is pretty sour, I am not able to claim warranty for my helijive as it was purchase with Thunder Tiger X50 combo which the receipt never mention about the esc.
Anyway I was told the esc cannot be repair and only offer 25% discount based on their list price which end up at 309 euro without VAT and I can buy the same esc from fast-lad at 324.99 without VAT which I found it ridiculous. Pay so much for top of the line esc, after 30-40 flight it just went dead and all it worth is 15 euro discount. I will stay away from Kontronik from now. |

I am not asking for a warranty claim, I am ok to pay for the replacement but the offer have to be reasonable. What's the point of sending back for repair when the replacement cost is as good as buying new online.

This is why i am saying that it would be much better if you had a proof of purchase.

The offer you would have received will be 25% of the RRP, which is €403.28 ex VAT.

is the warranty transferable from one person to another as long as you have the original purchase receipt?

Sorry you feel sour but as stated their hands are kinda tied w/o receipt.
My experience with K has been very positive. Had Jive replaced as "Good Will" even though it was smashed from a crash. Only time I wasn't completely happy was when they wouldn't service my hand wound Pyro because it was modified. It needed a new can regardless of the wind but they wouldn't touch it. Instead offered a replacement discount which wasn't much of one so I passed. Since then the motor has been repaired with new rotor, shaft and bearings by Kontonik USA for a very reasonable price. Happy Happy Happy here.

Very pleased with Customer Service in the USA myself.
Shipped my motor in for service on Monday. Received a call from Greg Alderman yesterday Afternoon regarding damage and work required (motor was in 3 crashes and yes bearings and shaft not in best shape). Guess what Received the email today with invoice and motor is on its way. That was a very fast turn around and I am very happy to have Kontronik Service in the USA with Charles Anderson and Greg Alderman. Before - I normally shipped it to Kontronik Germany and usually received it back with in 2-3 weeks. So its much better on motor repair now

My Jive came back from Germany last week, so it was gone for maybe three-four weeks from the time I shipped it to Tenn. I received excellent communications from them as far as where it was, when it shipped to Germany and when it shipped back. very pleased with them.
