Default When buying a clone... ???

Hey all..

I've owned a few coaxials and a simulator and now i feel its time to go the next step and get a collective pitch helicopter. As with many things, the amount of $$ i can spend is very limited and falls well short of a genuine align 450.

so, my options are as follows.. tell me what u feel and if it would be compatible and any good.. all personal opinion and views are welcome and please advice as im a very new to this hobby.

Tarot T-Rex 450 Sport Carbon Fiber Basic Kit
Turnigy nano-tech 3300mah 3S 35~70C Lipo Pack
9g Tower Pro Servos X 4
Turnigy Piezo Head Lock & Standard Gyro
TP 450-Size 2415-06T Brushless Heli Motor 4400kv
TURNIGY TRUST 55A SBEC Brushless Speed Controller
HobbyKing ECO6 50W 5A Balancer
Turnigy 9X 2.4GHz 8Ch Receiver (V2)
Transmitter Turngy 9X

Ive initially thought of going for the unknown kit available on ebay but reading through the forum, it was evident that a tarot was the way to go...

again, thankx in advance and all comments are most welcome...

cheers

Tarot is a good clone with few issues afaik.

The 4400KV motor is too much, you can get a Turnigy 2836 - 3700KV or any motor between 3400~3800KV.

About the lipo, 3300mAh is too big. Get the 2200 with 45/90C. 2 of them.

The radio and charger are ok.

Servos: get 3 MG90s for cyclic. Not sure about a good cheap servo for tail.

An ESC for 55 amps is ok, but one for 40 amps will do the job being lighter and cheaper. Make sure the BEC can handle 3 amps to be safe.

Cheers!

One more thing,

How does the HobbyKing HK450TT compare to a Tarot T-Rex 450 Sport..

there is a significant cost difference (50$ more for the tarot)..

please let me know..

cheers

Thumbs up

Having had hk/tarrot and model x clones i have decided the best value for money is hk and yes they arnt as good as a align but not so far away that unless you are an expert pilot you wont notice the differance. One thing going the clone way allows you to go bigger if your just starting out with a collective pitch machine go with a hk 500 over any 450 machine. Easier to fly see etc .i f you crash replace things like main shaft with align and you end up with a well flying helicopter.
