Default Flying fields in China

Hi,

Since I'm not able to read or write Chinese, I feel it's quite difficult for the foreigners to get some information over here.

So, is there anyone flying in Shanghai ? I know a few guys are flying near the F1 track but is there any other place ?

For those interested, I know 2 places where people fly in Hangzhou, 150km SW from Shanghai.

Fly safe,

Laurent

Hi,

Sorry I can't read Chinese...

Google said : "Now become less and less space, hey"

Agreed but don't tell me no one is flying around here

I know some used to fly close to the F1 track. Is there any other place ? On the West side ?

Fly safe,

Laurent

You and I are the same boat. Can't read or write Chinese. :o Or to be exact, I can only read traditional Chinese but can't type either simplified or traditional Chinese.

I was at Hangzhou earlier this year. I did find a gathering place for the RC guys, but never found any one there. How do I know if I found the right place?? there were broken CF blades and props on the ground If I remember correctly, the place was near by a river in the industrial development area.

Now, if I you live in China, mind if I ask how you are able to get by without understanding Chinese?

Hi,

For Hangzhou, you probably found the place ! They're also flying in the city but it's really not secure...

Here's the location of the flying field in Xiasha but it was under construction last time I went there, I don't know if it's still possible to fly there:
http://maps.google.com/maps?client=f...09645&t=h&z=17

My wife is from Taiwan so she helps and I have a good visual memory which is enough to move around after I get lost the first time... I can survive in Chinese but not much more

Fly safe,

Laurent

at Beijing, there are some good places in the center city, my freinds and i fly the rc ap/heli almost on every weekends(sometimes we were forbidden to fly anything in the sky, such as national day, olympics period, expect that, we could be cool ).
so any foreigner here will be welcome, we would be happy that you join us and do some cool manuver, and make progress together.
anyway, pm me

That is the problem living in big cities; hard to find space to fly. But if you do drive in China, you can still find some nice space inside or outside the city. I have been to Hangzhou once, and I think the problem is not the space, it is about people; people gather around when you fly rc models. Even small park flyer models can cause damage to people. So I think fly outside the city is better. Better view, better space etc. Plus you can gather people who plays rc models and go to fly together outside the city, that would be a nice weekend (of course with some beer and BBQ).

Generally finding a space is not that hard in China IMO. For me I am lucky living in a small city with open space everywhere, easy to travel, nice to live. But good choice living in Hangzhou, girls over there are so beautiful...

Happy flying
