Are the quick mounts suitable for holding my G20 canopy on? I have a couple of more items to order from you Dennis before ordering the canomod canopy. I really have to spend less time tinkering and more flying, but I justt can't help myself with wanting to change things up some.

True for all of us.

What batteries are you running in the E690?
What flight times are you expecting?

Hello Karl I am running Spyder & Thor 3300 12s .I am hoping for about 6 minutes .I am going to be setting up to run a lower headspeed on this rig.It will be some experimenting but I have sat and played with my 640 with 610 & 620mm blades running in the 1700 rpm area and the tail holds good plus with the FBL I can sit and flip it ,roll it ect right down and infront of yourself with no issues.I am after smooth not fast smack type stuff so I think I am going to really like this once I have it all setup.Looking to be somewhere in the 1600-1700 range with 690's and 104's.With current gearing and the Jive I can go to a max of 1900 but very little headroom for the governor and down into the 1500 area.I am sort of stuck there though as my next gearing change takes you to the moon being they skipped the 11 tooth gear and I would have to go to 12 ?It would be a motor change. I guess when all you care about is ballistic headspeed it does not matter.Century !!

Rotorsport get building Nothing better to do in this weather

I'm currently waiting for my motor to get a couple fins machined off of it so I can run the 10 tooth pinion. Looking to run 1950 rpm governed using the SK-540 governor.

I run my E640 presently at 1920 with the 620's and it works very nice.I bounce between 1850 and 1920 depending ,but I do still goof around at 1700 in N mode which is a full V curve also. They are nice fun helis for sure.

Default Quietest e640 ever

Forgot to plug in the Y battery adapter, and ended up accidently flying on 6S

Have no clue what the RPM was but its a 560kv motor. Thinking about it now, it was surprisingly stable, but at the time I just wanted to get it back on the ground.

Was a record three day weekend for me. 27 flights, unbelievable weather

Hello distructor the headspeed should be half of what you normaly run. There are allot of 700 guys that do just that to play with the real low headspeed stuff.I watched a video of a Logo600 SE so basically the size of my E690 and the fellow did a real nice flight with very nice smooth manuvers with all the piro stuff ect at 1000 RPM. To me it was one of the nicest flights I have ever seen .Smooth and graceful and you could see it and keep up with what he was doing, a very skilled pilot though. Nice to dream

Was thinking that the RPM would be 1/2, but when I went from Normal (1700) to IU1(1800) and IU2 (2100) the RPM seemed to stayed the same. Wondering if the CC governor was trying to get to it's set RPMs but couldn't.

I would think that it would be running flat out trying to get to the set RPM ,so you would not see any change in RPM with the mode change as it could not come close to the lowest set RPM.
Your back yard looks just like mine if you just got ride of the pool and buried everything under several feet of snow

The test flight has been done.Wow wow wow .I like it allot,it fly's great at 1660rpm .I did not go out of that rpm for the complete flight so I could calculate battery usage numbers.I had hovered two packs through it in my driveway before this flight so I had some idea on time and flew for 6 minutes.Huge loops and on the deck (for me) rolls and flips to inverted ect ,some backwards stuff all with no issue at 1660.The heli feel's so light and nimble ,I could not be happier.Hope to try and get a little video of it for you in the near future when I have someone with me that can do it.I may have to ask for a little help as I have never tried posting a video but I will now.I will get some flight times for you guys once I make a couple more flights. Wow love it E690 Yah

Sounds like you found your new favorite heli.

It has been too cold here to go out and fly. I tried at -12 and my Dave brown gas pump was freezing up (fuel line inside got real stiff) which made it hard to fuel. Pull start hasn't failed to start it yet.

Sorry digger plus 3c here today ,When the fuel pump does not want to pump it is a sign ! Glad to here the rewind is working good.

It may be the new # 1 but I will give it some time as the E640 is a dam good flyer stock also .This feels different, lighter and crisper I would say.I also cannot believe how quiet it is.I am running the slant gears and with the lower headspeed and my old deaf ears I could not hear it a few times until you did something to make blade noise. The 690's will make some noise when you pull on D sticks

Looks like flight times will be bumped up some as the 6 minute flight used a combined total of 3030mah out of the 2 packs. That is 46% so I should get 8 minutes safely with room to spare.
I weighed the heli ready to fly with battery's and it comes in at 9.44lbs with 690mm blades .It fly's light !!

I got a little more flying on the Stretch and still going with 1660 RPM .I did some 7:30sec flights with some loops, rolls ect and played with some tic tocs ect.Just mostly nice easy flying and used 3857mahs out of the packs combined .So roughly 60% capacity used. This make the old guy happy so far. Definently no need for bigger packs what so ever with what my plans are .Just wish I was not flying from a hole plowed out of the snow in a field, but hay I am getting in some flying.I am so pleased with how effecient it is running and how quiet it is.Also at 1660 this thing moves out good and just powers around very large loops. It has 11.5 degs plus and minus and does not even change it's tone in a full pitch climb out, but I would guess it should not at 1660. So far a very fun project , the fun is always greater when things work though

I've been watching for a crashed e640 to buy for my own stretch project. Guess I may have to wait till I crash my own :

Default Century E640 finally done and test flown

Okay, had a mild dumb thumb incident on my e640. Blades, tail gear, landing struts and battery slide that attaches to the frame.

Any ideas on replacing the slides without having to buy a whole new left/right carbon fiber frame?

Thanks

I do not know what to say as for trying to fix a rail in a side frame.I pulled a new one of the shelf and it appears to be molded into the slot.Did it bust a top or bottom edge off? Sorry to hear about the wreck but it is a nasty part of flying these critters.
