Being I just bought my first nitro heli and am a noob.
I'd love to see a video explaining how to set up a nitro heli without a govenor. What to do if your headspeed is to high, cut power, increase pitch which etc... If its to low and so on.. |

Applying after run oil and going over a "slightly" used motor
Pinecone, great videos! Regarding the what to do after running, as a nitro noob I didn't get how to use the after run oil. After you discussed it you demo'd running the last bit of fuel out but I didn't catch where you did anything with the after run oil. I hope this question doesn't come off as silly as it seems to me while I'm writing it.
Also, I just purchased a used Trex600N Pro w/out electronics, which will arrive tomorrow. The prior owner told me that the engine had a dozen or so tanks of hovering and is ready to be leaned out, but I'm not going to have the scratch to finish out the electronics for another couple of months. (I have the DX7se and I want to go high end on electronics right out of the gate.) At any rate, my first priority will be engine maintenance. Since I'll have some time on my hands I don't mind going step by step with the vidoes through disassembly, checking/replacing bearings, etc. (Luckily I've still got the simulator to play with and my 450 to treat like a stepchild while I save for electronics for my new baby. ) Any tips would be greatly appreciated. |

I am working on that video. But working is getting in the way of the fun stuff.
There is a video thread on bearings already floating around here. If you need to do after run for longer term storage, just pull the fan shroud, and you can put it into the carb inlet.
