Default Building a plane with electronics on hand.

I have some RC guts lying around and I am thinking I may be able to make a plane with them someday. I would love to learn to fly a plane someday.

Turnigy D3536/8 1000KV Brushless Outrunner Motor
A 30 amp ESC, (Should work with this motor)
And Three Futaba FP-S148 Servos
And of course a RX

Any ideas of a good simple plane this would work in? I would like to use 3 cell 2200mah batteries in it from my 450.

I did some math and I think this motor is roughly equilivent to a .20 glow engine. If so, I may be able to use a kit like this. Building one would be kinda fun I think.

Yeah, that would be a good trainer. If I were you though, you might want to try to find an ARF of some sort for your first plane. You will probably crash it...everyone does. You don't want to have a lot of time invested in your first plane since it may not last long, especially if you are going it alone. If you have help, well, then you might be OK. I think your electronics should do fine in that though.

I won't be going it alone, at least one of my flying buddies offered to help me learn planes. I plan on getting plenty of sim time this winter too.

I may pick up a foamy RTF or something to cut my teeth on before flying this kit. I just want to do an old school plane build. It just feels like something I should do. Well, mostly old school, I am not going to mess with a glow engine!

I am considering that, Mark Twain Hobby in St Louis has the foam, I have some micro servos lying around, I would just need a smallish outrunner and an ESC and I would have a plane learn on before I mess with a balsa plane.

skip the trainer man you can fly your heli planks are walk in the park
start with some thing low wing your going to be bored of that wing by the end of the first day lol

if you want to build get a SIG 4star kit
parkzone T-28 isnt bad ether the only skill youll need to learn is how to land but you can learn that on the sim
another middle of the road idea is the eflite Advance e25 its a blasa fuse with a foam core sheeted wing

flying a plank is just like a heli in fff just less work since you dont have to fly the tail just bank and yank
