Just get a 600 like Glennster said. It may not be until the end of the year until that one comes out. If you want a new heli I wouldn't wait around for the 500 at this point as it's still very much vaporware and rumors.

Dang! I had just about nailed my internal 450 or 600 dilema and I saw this. From my limited knowledge a heli in between the two would be well worth looking at for what I'm after. It also gives me loads of sim practice time

And I know this doesn't make sense for a newbie but I like the idea of being into a new model early in its life span so that those little gems and tweaks become part of the experience rather than bolt ons before the first flight.

Cheers

Bill

Honestly, take this as a sign to just step up to the 600, you will thank yourself down the road.

Does anyone really think the align 500 will be able to keep up with the logo 500? (Just strirrin' the pot boys)

Any ideas of battery size for the 500?

4S lame version, 6S power version oh oh oh oh...
I would love to think it will have a 6S 2200 option so all my 450 packs can become 6S 1P 2200.

They might be close, with the LOGO probably ending up being lighter with better power to weight ratio.
It will be hard to compare a stock t-rex anything to a logo especially since it doesn't come with powerplant/ESC. I'm gonna wait and see how the trex500 looks and then make my decision.
But the logo500 vids are very impressive! The hurricane doesn't impress me at all for some reason...

Fogger the Logo is straight badass and I doubt the Trex 500 will perform like it does. That being said they are really not in the same category even though they are both called 500s. I thought the T500 will be spinning 425 sized blades from the rumor mill and the L500 is spinning 500 and 550 blades. The thing Align will do is own the price and parts distribution aspect hands down.

Last rumor I heard was a possible Christmas (Dec07) release. The blades are 100mm longer than the 450 (or something like that). It fits right in the middle size-wise between the 450 and 600. Somewhere on the Web is a graphic showing the dimensions of all three (I can't find it now of course).

Right, I think I heard that bigfil. It doesn't make much sense though, what with the logo and gaui offerings in the 500mm arena, to make a 425mm bladed bird that's just barely bigger than a 450. Honestly I think we need some standardization on the electic side. Using the motor size makes no sense like it does on the nitro side. IMO they should all agree to use blade length on the E side to make it clear. Thus the 450's need to be re-named the 325's, the 600's stay as-is, and the t-rex 500 gets upsized to take 500mm blades. Heck, that may be what the delay is all about; perhaps Align realized they needed to compete in the 500mm blade arena and started over... (who knows)

Where did you guys hear the T500 would swing 425mm blades? The posts I've seen that were semi "official" stated the rotor would be 1090mm which would mean 500mm blades. I've not seen anything semi offical since then. Only guesses and speculation.

I could have swore I heard 425 mm from Finless. Basically it sounds like it'll be Lepton sized.
