Default Upgrade tail blades wont fit

Installed the upgrade tail on my align 700 nitro but after installing the additional bearing in the tail blade grips my tail blades wont fit. SUGGESTIONS?

are you sure you have the correct tail blade grips for the conversion?

KDE AT550-600-700-PTU-V2_Installation_Diagram7.PDF

see the red note on the PDF above about which tail grips are compatible and which are not.

Patrick emailed me and I had the upgraded align knockoff tail that came with the kit and the extra bearings arent necessary.
The fit and finish with the upgrade is much better than stock.

I installed the whole tail upgrade combo on my 700n dfc today and found the same thing, tail blades won't fit with the radial bearings. You are correct, I missed the red writing that says don't use them on my grips.

I can pull them back out but, that sucks because they actually tightened up the blade grips and made them better with even less play in the grips.

I'm considering dremeling the bottom of the tail blades to get them to fit and keep the radial bearing.

a small amount of play in the tail blade grips is very important to have. your tail rotor has no dampening. it needs this play to make up for that....tail rotors are specifically designed to incorporate this play.

the upgrade is for excessive slop development in the bearings. i replace tail bearings at least every 2 months. they are cheap. the hub and grips are designed to have some play for tracking, once that gets excessive, its too much.

i am referring to synergy helicopters, as that is what i fly, but the principals are the same.
