The link to the PDF is also on the Gaui site.

Let me know if you have problems, I was just recently through this with my NX4.

I'm using the mini-vbar on my nx4. Which ports do I use for the gov, rxA, rxB or rxC? Also, I'm using the Futaba on/off switch and the Gaui push glow starter. Is it okay to put something on a y-harness since I won't have enough ports for everything? I'm using a Life battery to power everything, this won't be to much voltage for the push glow will it? I have the original Push Glow on my Fury and it states that it has to be on a regulated 4.8v but when I watched the Smack Talk video with Bobby Watts he looks like he's using the Pushglow straight into the mini-v. Additionally its a blue mini-v with pro 5.3 (not Gaui) and 2 dsmx sats. Tx, JR 9503.

Default think I got it

Did some more searching. RxA is for the signal wire from the gov. RxB is for the other plug (throttle) on the gov and rxC is where I plug my power/on-off switch into. To use the Gaui glow driver where would be the best place to y-harness off of? Please correct me if I'm wrong. First time I've used a Vbar on a nitro. Jim

Default Gaui gov (help)

Jim, really any plug would work. I'd Y off the main power lead.

Matt,

Have you had a look at this thread?

NX4 - Wiring an external Governor to your Mini V-bar
timmytron

Basically , the RxA port on the mini vbar is disabled and will not recieve the signal from the Gaui governor. The thread sets out how to enable the port.

I have one of the early kits with the gold coloured Mini vbar. I followed the thread and opened the RxA port. I have had no problems with the governor since.

Hope this helps.

Jon.

Matt, take a look at the post above, you will have to do this to make the RXA accept the gov signal.

Also depending on your channel assignments, either Aux2 or Gear will be used in the governor menu of your DX9. You may need to go negative on the numbers to get the governor light to go green when activated.

Here is my VBar file when I used a DX8 It has the hack completed but I'm mainly showing you for the sake of seeing channel assignments. If you upload this file to your VBar you will have to redo the entire setup.

I had a few problems myself using the gaui governor but that was down to me using a non standard radio with programming that I found difficult to understand. The first thing I did was make sure that the magnetic sensor was working properly, that involved turning the flywheel so that the magnet on it was directly under the sensor. I believe the light goes out on the governor when the magnet is under the sensor. I now knew it was being detected. I'm using an ar7200bx with a devention 12s radio running deviation software (it's impressive..Google it..) I plugged the governor into aux2. .Ch7 and set it to 60, 80 and 95 for the 3 flight modes . I checked the monitor on the transmitter and it was outputting correctly, however the light on the governor was red, I reversed the channel and the light went green. I now set the throttle curves in the tx as idle1 70........50........70 and idle2 80.........50........80 normal was linear as all i do is spool up on that. With that done I fired her up and tached the headspeed in idle 2 and adjusted my aux2 values to get 2800.. i really hope this helps, because I had no help and was struggling for a while. If your sensor is not picking up the magnet I believe you have to turn the magnet over.

Missed your reply as I took too long replying.....oops..I also forgot to mention that I also followed the governor calibration instructions mentioned above..

Default GOV

mags are correct, it shuts off when it passed over. sensor is good. I have used aux2 and aux3 to try and figure this out . Why would it work in idle 2 and not idle 1 ??

With regards to RX-A. Make sure you have the single white wire reversed. ie, the white wire should face up with the rest of the black wires.

Default just maybe

I got this figured out? Changed the value of 216 to 4. Plugged gov into rxB and signal wire into rxC (bottom pin). Activated governor in the TX and after a bit of fiddling around with the radio figured out I needed to go negative on the numbers in the gov screen and bingo, I can use my flight mode (idle up) to turn the gov on and off. Have it off on normal mode, using the number 0 to keep it off and iu1 at -70 and iu2 at -80 to start off with. Thanks to everyone who helped on this.Maybe we can make a sticky of this?
