Default 720 on a Protos?

Hi everyone,

I just got a 720 that I'm going to put on my protos.

Anyone have any suggestions, tips, etc?

Where did you put the 720?

Are you using the power bus?

Pictures of a Protos setup would be great.

Thanks!

Check my photo album. There's a photo of the SK720 on one of mine.

Are you using satellites and a full rx?

Thanks Alex.

I'm going to be using two satellites plugged right into the 720. I notice you've got your 720 right where the boom case is on the carbon fiber protos.

I was hoping to mount the 720 right beneath the main shaft, but i'm not sure it's perpendicular.... I'm not sure the boom case is either. I'll have to check both locations.

BTW - I love the custom canopies. Where did you get them?

The boom case on the plastic Protos is perpendicular to the main shaft. But the bottom tray is not.

Personally I prefer mounting the SK720 on top of the boom case since the servo leads have a shorter distance to the unit.

In your case, you might want to use the bottom tray and buy a plastic putty knife that has a slope. Cut a piece off and attached to the bottom tray with thin mounting tape. Then attach the SK720 to that piece of plastic with gyro tape.

I got the custom canopies painted by the OEM for MSH canopies (E.T. Canopy). They did a real nice job. I'm almost afraid to fly them at $80 each.

Thanks for the info!

I think for now, I will probably put the 720 on the tail boom.
