Default Still cant connect zyx to win 8

S ive finally manged to at least install the usb driver now and in device manager says its com port 8. On johns site it says you have to have it on ports 1-4. But with win 8 I cant change the port.
And then I try and connect I still cant cant.
Anyone got win 8 setup out there?

Maybe you can run a virtual machine? My win 7 PC doesn't display tarot software properly and often crashes when I scroll. I use XP laptop instead. Mayne you could use Bluetooth on 8?

Using the directions from the post I linked to I was able to get the adapter working(no yellow warning icon) and it was assigned com port 5. So don't think that it has to be on ports 1 - 4.

Are you starting the software after the device shows up properly in your device manager? I just use the factory software not John's, and the port that is assigned to the adaper shows as a selectable option. And before you attempt to connect the zyx, is it fully initiated and linked to your TX?
