Default mx450 discontinued at tower....

so that kinda sucks. they still have stock of parts for it, but i'm guessing that helimax is going out of business? they don't have that bad of a product, i actually love my mx450. if they had just not skimped on the small stuff, and spent more time assembling the helis they would have been alot better of a beginner bird. overall a good heli, just the little details that make it suck for newbies like me.

so if the x400 and mx400 are the same, is there an ark equivalent to the 450?

No heli are without flaws, You just buy the one with the flaws you can deal with and like a pro pilot as said... you buy an heli you can aford to crash.

I am very happy with my 400 pro

Once setup and running the x400 is a great sport heli. As for flaws, ask any one who has owned a new align product. Talk about crash test dummy, oh and then you go to get parts "umm they are on backorder and align has not given a ship date".

Since Tower has discontinued the 400 & 400Pro. You CAN use the Align 450 parts for this air frame. Currently updating the tail to a 345mm so I can use the 315 & 325 Align blades.

Hi Raven,

Just yesterday I had a blade explosion... for no apparent reason. I was trying to track the blades. I was not event airborne and did not hit anything. I was wandering if I had to do the boom mod to use those. I know I have to do it for the 325 mm but do you think that the stock motor and pinion will be able to spin the 325mm or the 315 for that matter?

Thanks,

They will fit without having to make any adjustments? I found the CF balde set for the 400 but it's scary how close the blade comes to touching the tail blades. Since I tried to make the alteration. I ca not get the tail to stay still. As soon as I give it throttle the tail spins counter clock wise. wasn't doing this before I tried to put th4e align tail boom and extra long drive belt on. But ow I have everything back to normal setup and the tail is driving me crazy. Any suggestion or advice.

The longer tail is a great thing on the 400. The extra tial athority helps even on the stock blades.

I'll try to get the full conversion done before this weekend then. I have a pair of 400 CF blades and they do not fit with the stock boom.

Update on the tail boom conversion. Everything worked out fine. I can see and feel the difference in the response to my throw and tail being locked in.

ALSO!!!!!! the 450mx model has been reposted to Tower as of last night.

Weird I still see it as Discontinued.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMAE5&P=7

As long as they have parts to repair/upgrade we're fine

Hey LT did you buy the carbon 345mm heli-max boom or a regular t-rex 450 one?
