I have a Century Jet Ranger 30/550 size and a Century Bell 47 50/600 size. Both are electric conversions that I started out as direct drives using a TonicX 1110 KV motor and a 19t pinion with 5S, 18.5v motor. I now have them on clutch drive using the Century kit, an 800KV TonicX motor and the same 5S batterys. The bothe fly great both ways.

sounds good, so your running a 600 motor on an 18v battery i will probably need one of them then for a turnighy typhoon 600 , not a 22.2v then? or could i use it

I'm sure you will be fine with a 6S battery if that is what you want to use. The reason I'm using 5S is that is what I was using for my Esmart allready before building the Bell 47 and the Jet Ranger. Now I use the same batts for the Esmart (which I have in a Bell 222ut fuselage), the Bell 47, and the Jet Ranger. Keeps me from having to have so many differant batterys and also the 5S batts are less expensive. Everything flys great and I run as flat a throttle curve as I can for them all at around 85% to 90%.

The Bell 47 and Jet Ranger are both clutch drive and the Esmart/Bell222ut is of course the stock direct drive.

By the way, I like the clutch drive so much that I would convert the Esmart, but I don't have the brains to do it.

great stuff donnie thanks for the info , well i have a 22.2v 3600 here so i may try with that as its available and will cost me exacly -zero to put in the heli' i have the stock clutch from the os 32 i was using sitting here, so i may try it with that and if she works nice ile order a fresh clutch and install it , i noticed my esc has super soft start but i still think the clutch will be better as u can actualy here the engine spin up before the blades start to rotate. im 31 years old and spend all day building houses, plastering and general construction and all i can think about is my darn airwolf(century hawk pro mechanics) . i can see a few walls falling down in the first year of someone moving in. awsome hobby this is. personaly think i skimped a little on price by purchasing the turnigy typhoon in comparison to the century 600 a but ile give it a whirl and if all else fails buy a century motor next. ile be posting links to my first flight with the helicopter also as im just a big baby at heart

Keep in mind,iIf you are gonna use a motor in the 1100KV range you will need to direct drive the mechanics using a 19t pinion.

If you want to clutch drive the mechanics, the stock clutch has a 26t pinion, so you will need a motor in the 800KV range.

I have been using TonicX motors, and the mounting holes line up with the one's on the Century electric conversion kit.

It will fly great with the 1100kv, 19t pinion direct drive. Just enjoy it that way until you can get an 800kv motor. Only take you about 30 minutes to change to the clutch drive.

Aw man, I wish I had one. I would surely send it to you. Sorry for your mishap. It will all be worth it when you finally get it airborn.

There are many other sources in Canada and teh USA that would have them and that you could order from instead of Tower Hobbies.

Now that Great Plains/Tower Hobbies is the US distributor of TT, I am sure you will find they will carry fewer Century parts then they did in the past.

I have two Falcons converted and currently working on a third, with a Century 5 bladed head.

Here are a couple of videos. I'll post some more info later on.

Thanks a ton for the videos there! I have a kinetic 50 (hawk pro stretched) .. I am looking at the conversion kit. I am not good at electric motors and how to pick and what to pick.. would you be able to help me with that info Sir?
I am hoping to have a setup runnong 2000 - 2100 rpm on the head. and doing some soft 3D flying.. not smack at all.. just smooth transitioning stuff. tic tocs and stuff..

please let me know what I should go with (hopefully cheaper setup) to start with.
