Mine is doing the same thing and HOW ANNOYING(sorry), but geez this is so annoying when you are all ready to go, canopy on and you hit the switch and blahhhhhhhh…..

I have taken the advise of an experienced member and unplug the packs upon spool failure then turn the motor backwards several times, against the resistance and plug in again and it usually spools then.

Is it just me or is the esc arming beeps quieter when the spool failure occurs???

Wondering how and why the Mikado test pilots missed this???

You don't have to repower up.

I try to start and if it doesn't spoolup proper i stop it. Then wait a few seconds and try again.

Sometimes it takes 2-3 tries , then it makes the re-inializing noises and it works.

Still would like to get it fixed up proper (spoiled jive esc user) but i need to get back into the vstabi forums some how

Martin

There is a update for the YGE 160 now ,

so finally we have a fix. Not really just a fix and it's even more than an update.

this includes:
- check if Your ESC upgradable (and if not a replacement)
- software update
- hardware upgrade (the ESC is has to be dissassembled)
- test run under full load
- shipping cost back to Your home

The Update is only available here in Potsdam, so all ESCs must be send to us on Your cost. Maybe You can ask Your local dealer if he collects some ESC so the shipping is cheaper for each.

Please use this adress:

MIKADO Model Helicopters GmbH
Service ESC update
Friedrich-Klausing-Str. 2
DE-14469 Potsdam

16s IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!! The new firmware is better as the soft start is better and the "not starting" problem seems to have disappeared. The power is completely constant at 1900 with NO decrease at all. I guess that extra headroom was what the doctor ordered.
On a sad note, the phase sensor is still not working correctly, it is doing the same thing it was doing at IRCHA Luckily my friend Eric Ocepek gave me a Hobbywing phase sensor at IRCHA and it will all be good soon. I will probably send it back in after the OHB.....don't want it to get stuck in Germany again for an extended period of time ......Ron
