Hi

I have recently purchased a logo 800 xxtreme with stock ESC and motor. I am using a spectrum DX7S radio that only has normal mode and idle up one. I would like to know what the head speed should be in normal mode as well as in idle up. At the moment I'm running at approximately 2150rpm in idle up one. I understand this is too high, please advise.

Regards

Kyle

The mechanics and head will handle 2150 head speeds, but you'll probably bend a lot of blade bolts. And, the flights just get too short.

When Kyle was flying the model in competitions back in 2011, he used 1850, which gave him the most performance and still be able to get the minimum required 4 minutes as is often the case in competition flying.

Hi Dave/Neb

Thanks for the help guys. 1850 does seem a bit low, in fact so does 1900. Maybe the tachometer I have been using is faulty? Kyle Dahl's logo 800 seems to thump when I watch him on youtube. How do I find out what set up he is running? I'm not a great pilot I would just like my heli to perform properly.

Regards

DaveD is Kyle Dahls father (And head mechanic) so 1850 is what he was running

I have 1450 - 1650 - 1850. 1650 is my every day head speed. 1850 is more than enough for me and definitely gives the thump you mention :-)

If 1850-1900 doesn't do it for you , start looking at the vbar settings.

When I first got my 800 I found in a vertical dive it seemed to have a delay when I went to pull out.
A little freaky.

I ended up + 10 on agility and another +15 on tail and it was much better.

Tune to your liking at that rpm ,

It will do it , just keep an eye on packs. I got to trying to fly smack one day pulled down 4200 mah in 4:30
Poor 5000mah packs were warm. Should have videoed that flight.
