Thanks Lou.

I've got my Mezon up and flying and really, really like it.

Amazingly smooth spoolup free of any initial kick, autorotation bailout works perfect, ESC and motor stay cool.

Telemetry is great with the DC16 and being able to see min/max voltages and amperages logged by BEC and main pack right after a flight is awesome! If the ESC shuts down for any reason you can see the error code right on the Jetibox (or through a Jeti TX.)

It's also one of the easiest ESCs I've ever setup thanks to the Jetibox, much more clear than a Prog Card with blinking lights.

Telemetry makes it a cinch to set your headspeed, after setting the min/max governed range in the Jetibox you can simply watch the RPM display on the TX and tweak your headspeed. No need for an optical tach or audio tach on your phone!

Time will tell if they're reliable but so far initial impressions of performance and the capabilities of the governor in flight is right up there with YGE and Jive, it's very responsive and holds very well. I was able to up the governor gain to 20 (max) without any noticeable chatter, hunting, or tail wiggle. The BEC works fantastic, 5A continuous / 15A peak puts it right up there with a Jive. I firmly held the blade grips and did rapid pitch pumps for over a minute straight which kept the BEC load between 5-8A and it never shut down or browned out.

Lou, let me know where you end up for governor gain. While my Goblin flies very well at a gain of 20 I find it slightly strange that I was able to crank the gain all the way up without having any tail jitter or "chatter" from the motor while flying.

Then again, I'm thinking back to my old Castle days where you could only pick between a slightly lazy governor or constant chatter & hunting from the motor...

I just clicked on the link in your post and it came up fine. It is a PDF. You are opening it as a pdf correct?

I just clicked on the link again and got the jumbled mess. I'm sure it's a setting with my PC. I right clicked the link and saved the document as a .pdf. When I open the saved document it's perfectly normal. Like I said, must be some setting in my pc regarding viewing links.

Great way to get around the issue. Glad you now have the manual.

sounds like your web browser settings are goofed up a bit and possibly some security or even version might be behind and not able to handle current pdf. Good you get it downloaded. Other option would have been to reset the settings in the browser or try a different browser.

Is there a manual for the RPM version of the Mezon? I can't see any reference to turning off the internal Gov in the linked manual above.

You don't "turn off" the internal gov. When you select "fast response" mode you are telling it that you will be using the external gov portion.

The internal gov is the "constant rpm" mode.

Thanks Josh. Does that mean the Mezon still provides RPM logging even when using an external gov?

It all still runs through the Mezon so I see no reason why you wouldn't still have rpm logging.

Yes, it still logs the rpm. I'm using a vbar governor.

Hi Guys,

I’ve just finished building a Synergy 516 and have Mezon 120 lite with xnova 1000. Like the low headspeed thing. Heli has Vortex and I’m having issue with the Vortex gov. I set headspeed and the model pulses the tail. The mezon is reacting very fast to the Vortex gov settings. Have I got something setup wrong in the mezon. It’s set to fast response as the manual recommends for heli but with the Vortex gov it really responds fast. Should I have it on another setting?

One other thing what would the throttle max and mins be for the mezon in the Vortex as it’s not like setting up a castle esc.

Thanks

Maybe you need to turn down the gov gain in the vortex a couple of points then re-test.

Hi LubeMan1,

I had tried that and to the point had it as low as 5%. It was still the same. Just couldn’t get it to settle. I ended up setting it up old school using throttle curve. There must be some setting in the mezon and the spartan that need to be set.
