You have to trim the mounting tabs off on each side so they fit in the slots of the frame and you have to use the servo programmer to reverse the direction of one of the servos and also use it to level the servo arms . This is really easy to do and the hitecs have been excellent .They are tough , i have had some hard crashes with them and they are still going strong .

Some radios like the Devo 10 have Program Mix and also Tail Curve under the Function Menu. Since we use Program Mix; just set all the values in the Tail Curve to "0"

Also on the receiver Aileron and Elevator gyros, just dial in any stability setting you prefer because they are independent from tail.

I think you will be surprised how well it works.
Im running a castle speed control in governor mode so my throtle is fixed at 70 flat in idle 1 and 100 flat in idle 2 . So i set program mix to MASTER = pitch Slave = rudder . I originally tried it like your instruction said but tail was un flyable . I had it hovering great in my drive way but next time i flew, it spun circles and crashed into a tree .

Thanks, I was looking at the front one and wondering if there was clearance top to bottom to get them in there. Slid right in eh?

They are tight but they will fit with some work on the tabs . Also the linkages will not be straight up and down which is best but it is an ok trade off for a good servo that is not walkera . Futaba has a servo also but the gears are not metal but are probally way better than stock . I wonder how the linkages are with them .

Guys,
Why not using the original metal gear servos that walkera released?
Direct replacemend and no need to buy additional servo reverser...
Just my 2cents...

Walkera did not have theres out when i went hitec . Also with walkeras track record the only time i would stick with walkera is if a name brand servo was not available .

I did. So far no problems... but no big crashes either.

Walkera mg (7.6.9) are a big improvement over stock. After fitting these I had a hard crash with my Master CP, strong wind gust took the hel and the blades drove straight into a concrete post. Blades were badly battered, and one of the servo arms sheared off the spline and completly shattered but the servo itself was completely unharmed.
Simply fitted a new arm, sanded the blades, and all good!

I have a full brushless kit for the V400D02, tail motor and converter and all.
The motor is the same I see you guys using:
I have not heard much more than posted here on how the brushless tail motor conversions are going but here is what I have on the bench.
What will or will not not work on a Master CP.

Turnigy 3800KV and 15T pinion.
Exceed RC Proton 30A Brushless ESC Speed Controller
Signal Converter (Sold as for the RX2614) from Ebay seller rchobbygear
Turnigy 2300KV tail motor and rotor blade adapter
HM-59DQ-Z-39 Brushless Speed Controller (10A-T) For the tail.

Thanks

I tried the brushless tail set up again with the settings that i was told to use and it is still inconsistent so i am going back to a brushed tail . Others may have better luck .

Sorry, I hadn't had time to keep up with the threads, in this case of the brushless tail, 5488fletcher, you would have had to go to the function menu, select Sub Trim; Gyro, and then use some negative trim to reduce the gyro strength a little.

I,m back to running the brushed tail on this heli and all is good . The brushless tail set up in my opinion requires way to much messing with radio settings to work correctly . Like i stated earlier i had the thing flying great one day and than had my big crash a few days later . The tail never did act completely right in my opinion untill i went back to brushed . Others may have better luck than i and its even possible that i got a lemon . Any one else try the tail kit ?

Does Anyone have a Brushless Model for a Devo 10 on Deviation Firmware?
Or just a Walkera FW Devo 10 settings list?

I have the RTF-HELI Brushless Kit =
* Turnigy 3800KV and 15T pinion. & Flyfun 18A ESC.

I also run the Hitec 5055.

I need some help with my settings. I seem to have the tail spin.

Thanks

Make sure gyro gain is above 50 in all flight modes . Higher gain may help spins .

One question, do you have a brush to brushless converter for the tail motor ? because if you don't use brush to brushless signal converter, the tail motor won't work correctly, because, i had measure the signal from the rx with my oscilloscope and the range pulse is 0 - 2ms, brushless esc need pulse 1ms - 2ms, so i won't work correctly if you connect it directly from the tail motor brushless esc to the rx, it needs a brush to brushless signal converter too, not just for the main motor, but for the brushless tail motor too. I had make custom brush to brushless signal converter using atmega8 microcontroller for the main motor, but i'm still use brush motor for the tail, because it's not easy to place another brushless esc for the tail motor.
Try to re-program the tail motor brushless esc for the pole, maybe the tail motor will be more aggressive.

How is your tx setup for the brushed tail motor ?
I'm using turnigy 450 class 3800kv for the main motor + HK 50A brushless esc (with custom brush to brushless signal converter) and still use the brush tail motor, the main motor run smoothly, but the tail motor seems react unaccurately if the throttle rise up immidiately, i cannot try another setup for the tx because i'm still waiting for the parts after last big crash because of the inaccurate tail control . I'm using 450 class motor because of the weight and the size close to the original master cp brushed motor.

I have plan for replacing the tail motor with this :
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ner_Motor.html

Hobbyking BL1230 5300kv Brushless Inrunner Motor

Battery: 3s (11.1v)
RPM: 5300kv
Max current: 8.5A
Dimension: 30mm x 12mm, 38mm(with shaft)
Diameter of shaft: 1.5mm
Length of front shaft: 8mm
Weight: 15.3g

maybe it will fit on the tail room, but it's inrunner brushless motor....
any suggestion ?
