Ahhhh, noticed that had been done to one I found on the spare 600 airframe. Wondered why I had to ping it off with a thick blade. I forgotten I used to do it to the nuts of the servo screws on my belt-cp after the DTS mod and G10 frame mod Made it much easier to get the servos back in and not have to struggle to get pliars around the upper bearing block or have to remove it, yeah made it much easier Cheers for the reminder Chris

I was going to work on it tonight, but Jacks been projectile vomiting today and crying for his daddy, so I had to answer the call after work and put the 600 on the back burner again.

I'm grouting the floor tomorrow, so will only be doing a half day. Thinking I'll go onto Revo tomorrow and pick up the bits I need. At least I can go in and talk to them and hopefully they'll sort everything out there and then.

Wondered is it worth replacing the 3 way filter, or do they need cleaning? Noticed one of the clear fuel lines has a brown residue inside it so I'm going to replace the lines, and some new braids for the wiring too.

I'm not so bothered about the 2 screw's lost from the table tipping at the FFFD, it's the crack in the brand new canopy that was safely wrapped up in it's plastic bag, and polystyreen block to stop it from getting squashed, with a 2nd spare canopy over the top of it, to protect from damage that has narked me a bit. One of the most well packaged/protected items, and it just happened to be in the worng place at the wrong time Other than that, I'm fine

Got myself down to the LHS today to do some retail therapy (and make myself feel better about the canopy ).

New mCPx landing skids to replace the broken one from Saturday nights shenanigens @ the FFFD
2 bottles of Rapicon 20%
Epoxy to get the pipe mounted
New CA glue (can't get the lid off my old one, and it doesn't set to fast either!)
Align STQ100 Starter
Fuel Bottle Cap & New Fuel Line
12" Spektrum Satelite Receiver extension (both the AR7000 and sat. were mounted under the canopy, so I want to re-locate it on my build).
Spartan Gyro Mounting Pads (spares)
New Screw Set (obviously!!)
New Green Servo Braids (no black in stock!! )
XT60 Connectors (for the T-Rex 450 and starter for the 600, decided deans are a PITA to solder)

Also, the guy at the shop threw in a JST-XH connector (hope I got it right) for the 2S lipo I got with the 600. The old connector wasn't compatible with anything on my charger. So now I have 2 packs to power the 600

Wow Denis, quiet a batch of goodies you got there!

Mind me asked you guys what you pay per a gallon of fuel on average?

Deans are a PITA to solider, if you got a good home-brew jig it's not so bad. I've seen pro's solder them and make it look like a joke, I don't have such the same luck. LOL! You'll love the starter Denis, those Align ones are freaking sexy nice.

Feel for ya on the canopy, my first Aeolus canopy arrived with CRAP loads of them due to the way they packaged parts inside the canopy. But it was a huge first production run, thank god they sorted it out with my second kit.

Think I just paid £18 a bottle, which is 4 ltrs, but I dunno what that is in gallons

I've not had one spare minute today to do anything, and it's almost too late now, think I'll wander over to the bench and do a quick 30 mins on something before bed Eeny, meany, miny, mo which new bit should I choose to go? lol

Oh, meant to ask, how do you clean your old epoxy gasket of the pipe and engine mount? Scrape, Dissolve or just apply new without cleaning??

Cheers

I use sand paper to clean the muffler and engine port and then flush and reassemble. Though you having your engine built may complicate things. you should be able to just reapply and be OK, providing the two halves fit together like puzzle pieces.

4ltrs is a gallon. 18-25 pounds eh, can't remember what the exchange was like, so more or less $40 Canadian. Hmm, may not be over-paying as much as I thought. I just get screwed since it's not heli blends so I need to add like 10-25 dollars EXTRA in Castor oil..

Our gallon (imperial) is 4.5 litres... US gallon is 3.8 litres.

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litres

Now that's splitting hairs.

Cheers

Technically speaking:
1 UK gal = 4.546092 l
1 US gal = 3.785412 l

Sut, my converter only does six decimals, I could be terribly off the mark here

Just been practicing my pipe polishing action...I found going around the circumference of the pipe worked best. Wrapped steel wool around it and span it up with the other hand. All nice and shiny now, and I've sanded off the old resin. Had the foam backed flexible wet/dry paper so was able to get it into the frame and do the engine port easily too.

Also, looked at different ways of mounting the remote receiver now it has a 12" lead. So far looks like it will go on the frame sort of inbetween the canopy mount and back of the main gear.

And I have just done my first braid to have a practice at it. Managed a tidy job anyway. Now the 3rd cyclic servo is ready to go on. I'll get the throttle and tail done tomorrow night hopefully, and maybe place some more of the electric bits in.

And I fixed the mCPx, well I mean I pushed the new landing gear in 10 second repair and it's back in the air (10s includes opening the bag...lol).

optifuel comes in 5l bottles - so you actually get a little bit more. But rapicon is priced very well.

The Mrs just polished my pipe... Left it out on the table for a day and she got bored...

Cough....

Yup that's how I do it Denis. Going the other way dulls it quiet a bit. But the job does the trick, mines nice and shiny, now if my FREAKING PARTS WOULD COME, I'd be flying.

Bah humbug, was supposed to do a half day yesterday, but I ended up at work till 8.30pm Then I had to go have a meeting with my ex to try and straighten some things out between us. Didn't get home till almost 11pm, so was no play for me last night.

I'm off today, so got a chance to get some good progress done. I was supposed to be off tomorrow and planned to fire the engine up, but now I got to go back to work

I'll let you know how I get on later

Sorry guys, feel the need for a rant....

Those turned out to be famous last words. Not long after I posted that my phone rang, and I spent the next 2 days sorting out a broken down central heating system. To make the pill even more bitter, it was unpaid work, as I was liable to get the system up and running again because that's how it was when I started (yes it was the same job I was trying to finish before the FFFD!!!).

I only had to drain and remove 1 rad, so I could drop in some new skirting boards - simple job. But I wasn't aware that the system was so full of sludge, and the pump is on it's last legs, that I had to manually flush out of all the pipework and rads individually to get it operational again

Sat night and Sunday I was with Jack, and other than that I'm doing more quotes and catching up on paperwork.

Today, I've been back to finish some details on 2 other jobs (unpaid again), then tomorrow working (thankfully paid again) and got jack 2m night. Then I'm in Leeds for rest of week, and got Jack when I come back home for weekend.

Was gonna fly 2 packs on the 450 tonight, but then found out a labourer I was gonna use on my next big job has got another job So just spent best part of tonight sorting that out and then something else came up which needed more phone calls to sort out too I'm getting a little frustrated with this business as it just seems to get in the way of my hobby at such a time as I want to be spending more time on it. Still I keep thinking of the potential in the long term, and not just about the teething problems I'm currently having.

IS THIS RE-BUILD EVER GONNA GET FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have I beaten Steve's 500 build record yet I must be getting close
