YGE 60, mini Vbar, Program II card setup

I have the Program III card to do ESC programming. I have turned the governor function of the YGE off as I am going to use the one in the mini Vbar. For now, I have the mini Vbar governor off as well, and using a linear 0-100% throttle curve for initial ESC programming. There is a setting on the YGE called "start up speed" and another called "start up power". I think "start up speed" is similar to a soft start setting and I have it set to 4% right now and it does change how quickly it spools up. Once I get up to full throttle, I move my throttle stick down to maybe 50% and back up to full and expect it to change RPM rather quickly. However, it takes several seconds to do so, much longer than typical and this is with no blades on it. I want the ESC to respond as fast as possible to the RPM command because I will eventually be using the mini Vbar for governor, bailout, etc. In other words, aside from the soft start, I want the ESC to be dumb and just respond immediately to the RPM command. But I don't see any setting for this like "throttle response". Also, I don't know what the "start up power" is and I did see one video where they also set something to "plane fast". Plane setting on a helicopter? Can anyone explain any of this?
