Maybe so, but first redo the esc programming it may be throttle range is out of wack. first in your TX change all throttle curves back to linear then reprogram it. make sure timing seting is mid and brake is off.

hello heli yea i still have the origion manual so will follow your advice.i think you may be onto something with thr range.there is no sighn of a burn up,the esc can pulse the motor so if it can do that then its gotta be still working if it isnt im not to sad 4 years and i dread to think how far its actually flown
suppose in good testament its a good cheap heli, and takes lots of bashing

Good call, Chad. The ESC will not arm after the power-up if it sees anything over 0 signal from throttle, so the throttle range calibration is very likely to fix the problem.

Not saying it won't work, but I have my doubts. First, it was flying when it bombed out, so if the range was incorrect, he couldn't have armed it for the flight. Second, if it was calibrated before, why would it have changed. Third, it makes all the tones, and then tries to turn, after the correct tones, which means it is armed, or it would be completely dead.

My guess is that the connections to the motor are down to two, which makes them twitch, or turn very weakly, and the ones that remain is one of the ones for the motor beeps.

Could be the motor, or the ESC, or just the soldering or the wiring between the two on one of the three phases.

Would be very easy to check if you had a different motor, with a bit of botched temporary wiring, I suppose.

Cheers

Sutty

That makes sense. You can take the blades off and jiggle wires on the bench. When it cuts do you hear the ESC reset and start the beeping over? if so battery connection is loose to the ESC check it over.

It won't be on the DC battery side, as the esc is powering up. I'd put a bit of money on it being one of the three phases to the motor being down. Wiring from the ESC, or to the motor, the bullets inbetween, or even the motor coil itself.

Cheers

Yeah, when I said a 'bit of money', about a quarter was all I had in mind.
