Default 480 with a TT tail

So am I the only one who wants one....BAD? I am at the point of pinning one end although I want to do both. I know I cant...but wish I could. I'm really hoping Mikado offers a TT conversion at some point. Between the tail wag (not a lot), boom turning, belt loosening, and static possibilities...I want one.

I wouldn't count on it. But bigger question is where are those issues coming from... I have had mine for a while with a ton of flights and don't have any issues with my tail

I have a belted tail in my Forza 450, my Protos 500 is belted from pinion to tail, my Logo 550SX has a belted tail and even my Banshee is belted. In fact it has 3 belts!

I have no issues with tail wag on any of my helis and I have yet to have a static issue.

Both a TT and a belt can be done well such that there are no performance issues.

Either of them done poorly will leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Well I sanded the front part of the boom instead of installing a wire. So of course the boom diameter is smaller. I guess I will have to snug those bolts up a little more. The tail is set to a dimension and by the numbers seems a little loose to me. Both of these cause a loose belt and tail issues. Its down now waiting for a new main gear so I will really look into fixing the issues. I have been putting a bunch of flights on mine as well. Its a great heli and a joy to fly.

You can always put a thin piece of double sided tape in as a shim and a fixing agent.

Installing two screws is much easier and more effective than sanding the boom. It also will eliminate the boom twisting issue. Weight is a premium on smaller helis and a TT will just add weight and increase the parts count and cost.
Replace the boom, install the wires and voila…it will be good to go…..Ron

+1

and I've used CA to build up the ID (inner diameter) of plastic clamps on some models. or build up the OD (out diameter) of the boom with some tape. for a fun little heli, I'd prefer the belt.
