Default New parts - thrusted tail...

Just got this email from Corrado:

We just put on the site new 450 upgrades, including stretch kit for the Mini (350 blades), low flybarless hub and many other upgrades.

In the Protos upgrades you can find the new thrusted tail rotor.

Nice....

I wonder if this will bring any benefit from the Alex solution with the shoulder bolts.
I never liked Align's solution, as the grips had too much play. They seem to work fine, though.
With the Alex's mod for the tail, there is ablolutely zero play on the tail grips, and they spin freely.
Nevertheless it's nice to see TH bearings in the tail. I hope it fixes something...

BTW, what are those to small pieces on the right of the picture? Shouldn't they be locknuts?

I think those are flat washers. I like that new tail hub though.

You are right. Washers for the hub bolts...

I hope someone gets it and tell the difference.

I'll be getting the tail hub for sure:

I have 3 tail hubs that the hole is not centered.

Do you think your bearing arrangement fits this hub?

It uses the same radial and thrust bearings. I'm not sure about the shims though. If you buy the tail hub, they come with the shims.

Is there any advantage on a lower head block, besides the look?

Ahem ... besides the look ...

Takes less room in the car, to put more helis ?

It decreases the distance between the rotor disc and the center of gravity, more agility.

Regards,
Thomas.

PS : but the look is the first argument ...

I am very glad to see a thrusted tail option for the Protos

I tried the Infinity Hobby conversion....
I STRONGLY recommend NOT doing that!!!
6 flights, it threw a grip.
The bolt failed in flight.
Took 3 weeks to find the CNC grip

Either convert using a Mikado hub and bearings, or wait a lil longer and get the MSH gear.

Cant wait for the 500 to have them. Gorn that sucks that you had bad experience with the infinity hobby ones. I have the grips but have yet to buy the thrusted bearings.

Hello,

I shall receive the thrusted tail upgrade in the coming days.

But for how to assemble it, you can check the protos or mini protos manual, it should be the same sequence as for the main blade grips.

From what I see here :

from hub to blade :

- 1 normal bearing
- 1 or 2 large shim
- thrust bearing, larger inside diameter part
- thrust bearing, balls
- thrust bearing, smaller inside diameter part
- 1 small shim
- 1 normal bearing
- 1 thick shim
- screw

this is the standard and best way to assemble 2 normal bearings with a thrust bearing in between.

Regards,
Thomas.

[EDIT] Confirmed by Corrado, the exploded views are coming on MS Heli site.

It looks like the MSH51330 is for the Protos as it is listed for the Protos upgrades. Not the Mini?

I prefer not to guess about the correct order
I'll wait for Corrato
