I changed my order from the carbon back to the normal version. I think the stock version is good enough for me, and it even looks better.

Yeah that one is nice Zb, not sure if I would pay all the extra just for the carbon plates but it does look very nice IMO.

The "other" version some seem to be receiving is hideous though. I would have returned it personally had I received that one!

They keep changing there minds. That one looks different then mine... that I just got.

I am very happy with mine. Have not had a chance to use it yet though. Made it about 75% through on one heli. I just need more time in the day!

Once you get your head round the methodology the programming is very easy... You'll get if sorted in no time.

I have to say actually I think Jeti has the best menu system I've used... Spektrum was probably slightly easier initially, but lacks the depth of Jeti's options.

I don't think the faceplate is available separately btw.

Default carbon front

I asked Esprit if they were going to sell carbon plate by it self the answer was no , according to what I was told it will only come with the Carbon special edition model that cost $300 more .

I was wondering if anyone knows a carbon fiber fabricator that can just cut this front plate , if so can you let me know , thanks .

Cutting the carbon isn't difficult... I could do that on my desktop CNC with a bit of work copying the top plate. Getting all the nice logos and numbers is harder - that would need some pro facilities really... I guess it's probably silk screened?

What did you expect? That they would send you one for $10? It is called marketing. Create the need and the demand and you can ask almost what you want for it.

Well true supply and demand is a factor , however there is a point where rational thinking people will go for a certain look , did not think it would be a $10 upgrade .
A reasonable price point considering materials involved and machine time to cut out in my world I would say $125 -$150 . That being said I am still wondering if anyone can give some input as to anyone that can make this , thanks .

It really comes down to difficulty of the manufacturing process, price of the material is only one part of the price calculation. Also probably very few people realized the CNC aluminum frame must be also different, low volume equals highly specialized work force = more expensive product. The side grooves are deeper and attachment points are different. It's not as simple as swapping aluminum for carbon panel.

Also price comes down to potential market share, nobody will make hundreds do highly specific CF front plates for this radio. Market just does not exist for thousands of pieces.

I am sure that there is specialized skills involved in producing this part , but with a cad or solid works file , any good cnc machine that can cut carbon can do it . I would say it would come down to time and initial cost to have that done from there it would be cheaper to produce others .

Yeah - doesn't even need to be a particularly good CNC machine tbh, my desktop CNC would do it just fine.

longest part would be copying the dimensions out exactly. The plate wouldn't take long to cut out itself. If you put the plate in a scanner and use a scan to cad program that's take out a lot of the work.

Then you need to figure out how you will get the decals applied - screen printing should do it, just google silk screening services and find one near you that can print to CF. Perhaps a clear coat of laquer over the top if you're feeling fancy.

Bonus is you can make/personalise your own design too.

Totally doable if one felt so inclined.
