Hi Guys,
Not sure I am in the right place but here goes. I have a HK 450 Pro on which I have installed the Turnigy Vbar 600. Also using Turnigy 9x Tx. I am fairly new to Helis but have built (and rebuilt) two HK450's This is the problem with the Vbar:- When the LCD control box is plugged in all servos work correctly. I.e the same as they did before the V Bar was installed. But, when I disconnect the LCD Programmer and re-boot into Normal Flight mode the AIL servo has 1/2 travel (upwards) but much slower then it did before. Also when I reduce ELE the ELE servo and the AIL servo both come back to mid stick (or low stick) very slow. Their initial downward movement is quick but then they sort of creep back to position. As I said above, plug the LCD programmer back in and all servos work normally. The other weird thing is that the Vbar doesnt seem to want to initialise in Nornal Flight mode. It was working when I first installed it (at least I think it was !!) and had all the defaults loaded. I have reloaded all the defaults and still get the same thing. Now all I hear is some slight servo buzz, but nothing happening. I.E no swash movement. I have spent a bit if time fiddling with all the settings and wondered if I may have messed something up in Tx or Vbar. I have spent nearly 3 days on this thing and its driving me nuts. I have read most of the threads on here but cant seem to find anyone with the same problem(s) Thanks In advance Ray H |

I had troubles getting the T-Bar to initialize too,
Make sure your pitch curve is linear (0-25-50-75-100) in ALL flight modes. This fixed my problem. With regard to the issues on servo travel, try redoing the Tx calibration (after setting the linear pitch curve) Hope this helps. *edit* Also that slow creep back to the neutral point is normal. the higher you set the "feed" setting the quicker it will return to neutral, lower settings are closer to "head holding" or AVCS mode where the gyros will try to hold the heli at the last commanded angle. Most find flying in this mode on cyclic to be unnerving. I am one of them, stick to the default settings for now untill you learn more about how the different gain settings affect the flight characteristics. Think of it like your tail gyro(on a FB heli) set in rate mode, if you move the rudder the servo will move then slowly creep back to neutral.

Hi Steemo,
Thanks for that, but now its got even worse. The damn thing just sits and blinks......2 flashes....!!!! (no signal from receiver according to manual). I'm guessing that its pretty dead. I have rehooked the servos back into the receiver and everything works fine. Did this on both helis too and both receivers fine. I suspected something was wrong with this from the start tho. On my last attempt to get it going (before I got the blinking light syndrome) I was resetting the defaults. I finished doing this and went away for about 10 mins. I came back and sat down at my work bench and was reading the manual for 487th time. The damn thing started up by itself !!!! I had no blades on it, thankfully, but it scared the crap out of me. The tx was turned on but throttle hold was on and stick was at its lowest. I now suspect that this might have something to do with a low battery on the heli, but I dont know for sure. Sooooooooo...its going back !!!! Cheers Ray H |

Bummer,
I was close to sending mine back, very frustrating. You know that HK have to let you send it to their NSW warehouse if you request. So you won't have to pay for international shipping to send it back to hong kong for warranty, only to NSW

vibrations in hover
Someone check me here. I took my 5 blade Trex 450 SE V2 up in some wind ~about 10+ mph. I have the copterX CX-3X900 (same thing as the turnigy 600). I noticed that the heli had a vibration while in a hover. Everything seemed fine while in forward flight. It only seemed to vibrate while in a hover. When I powered down the heli on the 3rd and final flight of the outing, I didn't hit throttle hold, as I normally do. The heli tried to start a chicken dance, but luckily was loosing power quickly, so it only bent up all five feather shafts on the CopterX 5 blade head and toasted the CopterX blades. When I checked out the settings on the FBL controller, I noticed that I had autotrim set to true. I think the controller was having a tough time keeping the swash level with autotrim on and a 10+ MPH wind. Sound logical?

Auto trim is only supposed to be used in 0 wind and by an experienced pilot who can keep the heli stable in one place out of the rotor wash (3-5ft up outdoors depending on heli size). you then need to land and change auto trim to false.
Apparently this step can be repeated, so each time the trim gets closer to perfect when you do it again it's easier to hold it stable. Although I wouldn't go to the trouble of doing it more than twice unless you could not hold it still the frist 2 times.

Hi All Like others in this thread I'm totally new to flybar less systems. I have the V-bar 600 and have a some problems having done searchs but can't find a match I was hoping someone can point me at a thread or help out. I have a HK450 with Towerpro MG90 servos DX8 Tx and a AR6110 RX. I setup the unit using the Manual you can get from Hobbyking taking the defaults. The Issue I have is the swash plate does move in the correct direction when I tilt the model but no more that 1 or 2 mm and I can hover the model but its no more stable than without the unit (I'm using a standard head at the moment) secondly the Tail is constantly fighting the model irrespective of the gain I have set on the XT .

How do I limit tail servo travel?
Can someone with a DX7 please post their radio settings that are working well with the V600 along with the V600 settings? Thanks.

Anybody ever figure out how to do a factory default reset? I need to try to clear out the autotrim settings to see if that fixes a vibration issue that started after I messed with autotrim.....
