Default Help with Novus CP/43G

Hi, Thanks for watching my video. I am trying to get the gyro set on this little bird. As you can see from the video at half throttle it holds the tail good but when you go up to 3/4 or full as you can see it wants to spin. I'm using the stock radio, batts and motors the heli has never realy been flown over around 3 times so I dont figure the tail motor is bad. The setting I have adjusted are as follows I adjusted the mix on the E-Board until I got the best setting there and I moved on the the radio and the rev mix on the radio is set to 0 and my gyro gain is set to 80-85. Any idea on what to do to fix this??

Hi, I wouldn't call that so much a spin as a slight yaw.

When you correct it with the rudder - will the heli yaw the other way ok?

Thanks for the reply Dusty.. Yes it corrects just fine when you add rudder... I just wasnt for sure if I had to much gyro gain or maybe to much rev mix. At the time when I made the video I didnt know it at the time but I way to much pitch in the blades so that may have had a little to do with my problem.

I should think it'll be fine, also how it reacts on the turntable isn't necessarily the same as how it'll work in the air.

It would be asking a lot for the tail to be perfect as it's a small tail motored CP heli with a rate gyro, but it does the job well enough IMO

My prior reply was inaccurate - I've removed it.

Thank's for the info Silverexpress01. I'll give that a try. I've been using the "EXT" pot to do all the adjusting and I'd been leaving the Revolution Mix on the radio set at +30 which I think is factory setting. I'll try it like you described and see how it works out.

Default micro heli tail hold

I have many flights on my 4G3 (the same bird as yours) and found if you have too much positive pitch available, the tail will kick out. Try reducing the amount of pitch. You can do it with the linkages up in the head, or electronically with the radio mix settings (a bit hard to do with the manual supplied). It is worthwhile to learn the mix settings but it will take some patience. The linkage change would be easiest for now. Less pitch is easier for the gyro to hold the tail.
Cheers Eric

Eric, Thanks for the info... What amount of pitch do you recommend as I dont fly 3D just a little aerobatics from time to time...

Default pitch

I just give about 10 degrees (eyeball it only) then adjust the max pitch up or down to what the heli can handle through test flights. For 3D flying I then eyeball the amount of positive pitch while holding the chopper running and set the negative to roughly the same. You can see the pitch of the blades as they spin and hear the load on the motor. For this you have to play with the electronic "dip" switches and rotary knobs. Not a fun job unless you have some time and patience to figure out. I don't know what the novus manual is like but the walkera manual is written in "chinglish" and is hard to figure out.
Cheers Eric
