Default BLS272 and BLS274 Help

I crashed my 700, and one cyclic servo gear is crunchy, and the tail servo case broke, and the gears stripped.

I contacted Futaba support, and they provided me with these part numbers:
For the BLS272SV servo:

HSP82438 T 1M11K43601 BLS155HV 1ST P/M GR US$5.71
HSP79691 T 1M15E25201 2ND GEAR BLS451 US$5.45
HSP79692 T 1M15E25301 3RD GEAR BLS451 US$5.45
HSP79680 T 1M15E25101 FINAL GEAR ASSY BLS US$16.96

For the BLS274SV:

HSP73831 T 1M11K19601 1ST GEAR S9253 US$1.68
HSP73817 T 1M11K19401 2ND GEAR S9253 US$1.85
HSP73815 T 1M11K19501 3RD GEAR S9253 US$1.95
HSP73822 T 1M11K19101 FINAL GEAR S9151 US$2.45

The problem is, when doing a search on Google, Futaba-RC, or Tower Hobbies, most of these part numbers and names do not exist. Does anyone have experience with these servos that can help me find the right gear sets?

Those are Hobby Services unique P/Ns. They will sell individual gears through Hobby Services if you call/e-mail them, but most retailers do not carry these individual items.

That being said, the BLS272SV uses the same gear set as the BLS255HV. This is readily available from Tower Hobbies: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBLTC&P=7

Similarly, the BLS274SV shares the same gears as the S9253/S9251/S9256/BLS251/BLS251SB/BLS256HV/BLS276SV.

These are bulk packed in a very nice gear set here: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPHL9&P=7

Thanks! Can I also use this gear set, if I need the output gear?

I don't see futaba servo grease on the Tower website. Is the Hitec stuff good, or should I just use clear silicone lube?

No, if you want the output gear, I would get this gear set:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXYAF1&P=7

I use the Permatex White Lithium grease on my gears, same stuff as the Hitec gear grease.

Interesting, futaba service told me there was no metal output gear that fit the BLS274.

So what you linked is the same gears just with a metal output gear?

Yes, the plastic gears are identical. The output gear is metal.

You were far more helpful than any of the customer service people I talked to.

Placed my order from Tower Hobbies!

Not to take anything away from dchekas but the Futaba customer service has been great and very helpful when I have needed to call upon them. Don't be shy about asking lots of questions and try to be clear about what you need.

Also FYI I prefer to order the individual gears through Hobby Services, the gears they sell are better quality than the bulk gearsets that Tower sells. In particular, the plastic gear in the BLS451. If you buy an individual one straight from Futaba is the same greyish brown color as the OEM gear, but if you buy the bag of five from Tower (in Futaba packaging) they are a white nylon that is not as strong.

Thanks for the info! I do own the set of five white gears. I'll call Hobby services for my next set. I have dealt with Hobby Services several times. I also have been a Tower Hobbies customer for many years and my father also, since early eighties.

Need to get some gears for BLS275SV and BLS276SV.

When you guys talk about "Hobby Services" is that at Futaba or Hobbico? I had been talking to Futaba ICS (Industrial) and they said to contact Hobbico.

Great, thanks.

Can you tell me which gearset is in common with BLS275SV? I can't find one specifically for it. I assume it's shared with another servo family, similarly to how the 276 shares gears with the 9253 for which I intend to order:

Indeed, it shares gears with the S9352SV, S9353HV, and BLS273SV.

Tower doesn't appear to list these as a replacement set yet, but Hobby Services will have the gears available if you call/email them.

Hmmm... somehow I determined that these gears should fit:

But now I can't find the clue that tipped me off... it was on Tower's web page. But now I can't find it. Hopefully they fit.
