digging the old raptor 60 out as in previous posts to have a go at trying to learn again..after many years, I have come to buying fuel.
when The helicopter was set up for me it was set up running on a 15% fuel and number 3 plug.
Now I cant find any 15% only either 12% or 20%
since I am starting out, I want something thats going to be a bit calm.
If I went for a !2% would this be ok ?..would I need to retune the engine (hope not)
and what number plug would you recommend.

I would suggest any high quality helicopter fuel.
I would go with the 20% - a wornout engine will be easier to start and tune with 20%.
And, yes, you will have to retune it. That is the basic nature of nitro engines, they need retuning for changes in the weather.
I would go to the manufacturers web site and see if you can download their manual. It will give you the "factory starting" points for the needles.
This is important, but because you have some work to do before you try to start it again.

If it has not been touched in more than a year:
Change all the fuel lines. Especially inside the tank. Check the clunk
Change the external fuel filter
Pull the motor out and remove the cylinder head and backplate.
Note: The backplate has a paper gasket and it will break. It is easy to make a replacement out of heavy paper stock. Trace the back of the engine on the paper and cut it out.

Find some Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO).

When the cylinder head and backplate are off, turn the engine by hand, douche the inside of the motor and the carb intake with MMO and keep turning until it feels "normal". If needed, dunk the whole engine into a can full of MMO and let it soak, tuning it every once an awhile.

You most likely will need an new main bearing for the motor. Check it closely for rust and worn balls.

I would also spend a few hours carefully looking over the heli.

I would plan on a new receiver battery at the very least.

There are not too many parts available for the R60.
Granted, many of the R90 parts work on the R60, but you will have problems finding tailbooms and torque tubes for the R60.
