Default Governor Mode - Looking for direction

Hi Guys,
I have an Align RCE-BL60G here and am having trouble finding any good info about how to get this setup in governor mode.

Bob, do you know of any place where they spell out how to get this set up along with the flat line throttle curve and pitch curve?

Even a link to the esc manual would be awesome.

Thanks a million.

My video (step 15) on page one of this thread for ESC setup goes all through it.
As for setting up gov you simply enable it (Heli+gov) mode and set your flat throttle curve. 80% should do it.

The ESC setup instructions are in the Trex500 manual. You can find that as a sticky thread int he Trex500 forum.

Default DS510 servo question

The manual says to use a servo spacer when installing the elevator servo, as you did with the servo you used. however, I am not finding anything resembling this in the supplies given. Am I missing something, or do I need to manufacture one like you did? I purchased the 500ESP 3G kit.

I would still have two extra servo nuts, shown below, but won't I need those for the DS520 tail?

I believe Align now supplies a long ball for the elevator servo so spacers are not needed with their servos.

Default Flybar Balance Issues

Hi Bob,
Big thanks once again for all you've done to help us all out.

Have question here about flybar balance. I going through my heli (trex 500) and doing a proper balance on almost everything. I thought I had a bent flybar when I popped off all the links on the head and the birdcage flopped to one side as if it were totally out of balance.

I inserted a new flybar, tightened everything down, and same thing happened, the birdcage went to extreme pitch when the links were disconnected.

So I loosened the four birdcage screws and the two flybar set screws just a tad and the birdcage was perfectly flat. When those screws weren't tight it was perfectly level!
When I tightened down just one screw the birdcage would flop over to one side.

I was told to try tightening the screws and put a slight bend in the flybar and that would level out the birdcage...

What do you think?

Leave it the way it is knowing that when the screws aren't tight it's balanced or tighten all the screws down and try to tweak the fly bar a bit to level the birdcage.

I'm trying to get all the vibes out cause I'm planning on using an onboard vid camera down the road so that's why I'm getting pretty picky here...
Thanks for you time...

Remember set screws have what are called "dog ears" and when you tighten them on a shaft the set screw cuts a ring in the shaft to "set" the screw. So if the flybar was just a little off to one side causing the balance issue, then when you loosen the set screws and move the flybar to balance, re-tightening can put the set screw right back where it was and into the cut ring in the shaft. Makes sense?

So to get it balanced loosen the set screws and rotate the shaft so there is no chance the set screws will try to sit in the old rings in the shaft. Now tighten one set screw. If balanced tighten the other. Now you will have to realign the paddles as you rotated the flybar.

The 550 and the 500/600 are all SO much the same you should not need a specific 550 video. Watch those 500/600 vids and then ask specific questions in the Align forums.

I would have loved to do a 550 video but Align never asked me so I don't even own one nor had the chance or desire. I honestly have not been interested in buying one myself either. It seems now they are getting Jeff Fassbinder to do "professional" videos for you all on Align products so it appears I wont be asked again. If I buy an Align product myself, trust that I will do videos for you guys Thats a promise I always will keep!

Where you put home made spacers on the elevator servo so the ball link is central to the frame, could you not simply bend the metal servo arm so it is central?
Great build video's

I am not into bending servo arms. It's called metal fatigue. I suppose it could work but to me spacers is the proper way.
