Default New links are still loose?

Just replaced the plastic links on the pushrods that run from swash to grips. They had a little bit of lateral play on the ball and were very "free" on the ball.

Put brand new links on it and they are the exact same??? Are you guys have similar experience with these? I tried yanking them off and they seem to hold on there ok, but the lateral play on the ball has me nervous. The balls have roughly 50 flights on them so they shouldn't need replacing.

Strange, they always used to need a bit of sizing with the tool.

Are you putting the links on the right side ?
They actually have a side they prefer to be on. The other side works as well (I haven't had any fall out in 50+ flights before I noticed) but will develop a bit of slop.

You're supposed to put the MSH logo on the outside of the ball.

So my curiosity took over and I did a few searches on this subject. Many are reporting the same issue.

Apparently, the issue is not with the links but with the balls on the low FBL heads. That seems to be the one constant in this case. One guy took measurements and noticed the balls on the low FBL head were a few hundreths of a mm smaller than the balls that came with the original FB head. This is why the links fit so loosely it seems.

Ppl are saying that as long as you don't have any up and down play on the ball, you should be ok even with a small amount of lateral play on the ball.

You can try a bunch of links until you find the tightest bunch out of the pack to minimize this but, to me, this is one of those things that makes me want to go "WTF!??!" to the manufacturer.

The fact that i'm risking a $1000 450 over no fault of my own, but because of a manufacturer error really is annoying.

I have some Quick UK rocketcity links at home. I think I may try to see if they fit better.
