Default Mechanics for Scale Fuse

It seems that Trex 600 ESP's are getting tough to find, used. Apparently, EFL Pro's and E Pro's won't work in the Scale Fuse I have, not with out major mods. It's designed to fit either Chaos 600 or Trex 600 ESP.. My question is, does anyone know about the Chaos 600 brand? Is it a decent airframe? If it is, I can just get this new and go from there.

It's an RC Aerodyne Eurocopter Tiger... Is Chaos a decent brand?

It is a clone of the T-Rex 600 ESP but I have no personal experience with them. There are lots that have. There is no economical way to use an EFL Pro or E Pro so it is not worth going there. If you look at the instruction sheet from the kit, you will see the shape of the frames that are supplied. As long as the 600 you buy has the same configuration (servo locations and the pivot bearings in the frame), you will be ok. Just remember to have the manual of the original helicopter kit there to help you rebuild the components into the new frames because the manual I have seen doesn't tell you squat about assembling the new frame system. It may be there but I didn't see it online. As time progresses, we will all be forced to look for older 600's as the manufacturers have not kept up for years and you can best believe that Align is the major reason for the lack of updating. They change way too much and drop support for the past models as they bring in a new model. The clones tend to stay "as is" with little updating or upgrading happening. Take care.

The CHAOS 600 is a good choice to use if you require a 600 platform in the ESP format.

Cost is quite reasonable and quality is better than you would expect.

It's a shame Align has dropped it's earlier models as they are ideal for scale.

A few other suggestions:

1. A trex clone that looks very well made http://www.vwinrc.com/?productlist-52.html
2. Or you can buy the Hobbyking CF main Frames and fit align gears and parts. This is a good option if you already have a few spare parts kicking around.

Thanks guys. I found someone local who has an ESP. If that doesn't work out ill get the Chaos 600. Is the Chaos 600 pro just the same thing as the ESP? I saw Chaos 600 pros on Rc Aerdynes site, so I would assume so.

The Chaos's frames are spaced a few mm further apart than the Align and the parts in the kit are based around a Trex so they need to be shimmed with washers ect to make them fit.

If you are going to make it scale looking (4 blade head, 3 blade tail) don't even bother buying an ESP this is a list of the parts you won't need or have to sell

motor and esc
head and tail
main frames

That's just about all the major parts

This is how I have built mine (in bits) so I could put in it exactly the stuff I wanted without paying for a pile of dust collectors.

I'm looking into the same fuse, i have a 600N Pro (original 600N Pro) with the TT That i would convert to electric before it goes in the fuse. Can i use this once its converted?

i was thinking of possibly getting this conversion kit for it:
http://www.alien-rc.com/oscommerce/c...oducts_id=1698

OR should i just look at getting a Chaos instead?

Don't bother with the conversion kit.
The Tiger kit comes with new frames to lower the boom and 2 new bearing holders to hold a new set of torque tube gears in place. The width of these bearing holders is 47mm.
I don't have a nitro to measure but I think its larger than this?

So to convert your nitro into electric to fit you would need (if its larger)
main bearing holders
motor mount
boom holder
gyro and bottom plate
control shaft between the two round servo horns
motor and esc
There might be some more bits because I am unsure of the nitro

My mechanics are out of the fuse at the moment while I paint the fuse if you want me to measure anything or take pics just ask

The electric frames are 4mm narrower than the nitro. Reading up on the conversions I would need a 2mm spacer on each side of the motor mount... I'd love to see detailed pictures of the inside of the fuse, mainly where the mechanics mount. And if you had to modify anything some pics of that would be great to... Thanks

I started doing this a while ago and have not updated it.
When I get some nice pics I will add a few more.

This is what the mechanics look like.
In the second pic there is a plastic mount where the landing gear would normally go. The rear ones clip into a ply retainer in the fuse and the front ones bolt down to the ply frame inside the fuse that's about half way up.

I'm working on getting the quad main and tail rotor heads...Which ones would you recommend? I'm looking at SkyHunter Hobby and RC Aerodyne..

Considering this one: http://www.skyhunterhobbys.com/600-S...-Sky-4-600.htm

Tail: http://www.skyhunterhobbys.com/Multi...d-TFSP-153.htm
or

RC Aerodyne's prices seem kind of high...Which do you recommend?
