Default Dry Lube

Hey Guys. I have seen a lot of dry lubes that have been recommended and posted in various forums including one by White Lightning called Clean Ride. Nice stuff, does not sling off, is white/off white in color and is a wax product so no grease residue.

Just picked this up while actually looking for the Clean Ride lube which was not carried at the shop I visited. Squirt. It too is a wax based product but is biodegradable so I assume that it is using water as the vehicle in lieu of an quicker evaporating solvent. Got home and did a little research (after the fact) and found a video review of this product which was impressive. Understand that this and a lot of other products are marketed for bicycles and thus the testing is centered around that machine but the results were impressive. In the video, you will see several lubricants of all types and Squirt was next to the top and the Clean Ride product was well down the list. Check out the video and form your own opinion. I will see how it does on my helicopters since I have it anyway. You might find it at your local bike shop or order online.

i have used the clean ride on my 770 metal gear before and currently use in on my bike chains, a very clean product. i have used the squirt before on my bike chains a while back and i remember it being a messier wet lube. however i was instructed to not wipe the excess off like others so i don't know if thats why. nice thing about clean ride is it comes in a pretty big bottle and was much cleaner than the heli dry lube.

Clean ride might be the way to go. Another Freak has used Squirt on his Mostro and it still came off the gear after a while and ended up on his motor and everything outboard of the gear. Guess it is ideal for bikes which is why I mentioned to form your own opinion.........

Guess I wasted $12 as I don't ride bikes....................

You could always try it still. You never know. I think it all flings a little. I get some on my motor and spacers between the two main plates on both my goblins. Cleaning the gear really good to start will help it stick better

They are two different things but description sounds similar. Clean ride is pretty thick. Haven't messed with the other one but i saw both when I bought mine.

I went from TriFlow to DryFluids Gear - I was quite happy with the TriFlow and was sceptical of the DryFluids, but after loads of flights I must say that I'm sold on the DryFluids.

The DryFluids is fairly pricey, but it stays on long.

I will give it a try since it is already on the gears. I dripped it on the gear and then came back and brushed it to even it out. Will be a few days as I am working out a few details on my FBL but will let you know what happens.
