I think your misunderstanding me. I mean imho there are better and cheaper larger batteries via Hk than the Nano's. You don't think zippy, and regular turnigy are better value than the nano's?

Ah ok...that is possible though I haven't used zippy's etc.

I was referring to HK Turnigy's overall...both blue and nano lipos which I have used extensively.

I know people have posted about issues/hatred etc of nano's but I haven't personally had any problems.

I am particularly fond of their blues though my 6S 450X has been fueled solely by nano's and no issues. I run one dry in 3m30s and they have been flogged like this since the very first flight...no running in or babying. It has been a trial by fire and I fly them that way even on hot days.

I didn't mean in any way to call you out as I know in the past people have been pretty scathing of the Turnigy lipos but I believe they use a new manufacturer now and I've had loads of the things without a single problem

I have a severe dislike for the Nanos- in the larger packs, they puff really easy if they get on the high side of warm. I'm going to be retiring some 6S 3300 packs that barely have 35 flights on them, and I took very good care of them. I think the standard Turnigy blues are WAY better than their supposed higher quality Nano-tech. They last a really long time, and they can take abuse.

Zippy... some are good, some are not. I've not had good luck with them.

Gens Ace- get em if at all possible! The 3S work great in the 450x, the 6S 3300 25C are a great match in the 12S 600 birds, and I'm having similar experiences with the 6S 4400 35C in my 700.

EFlight- really not bad for the money, but I've found that most other batteries are higher quality.

Hyperion- my favorite in smaller helis (450 and below).

Thunder Power- awesome for power hungry machines. They really kill your wallet, but they just keep going and going and going. Well worth the investment, and my favorite battery for large machines.

Glacier... gonna give these a try later this summer. I suspect they will be very similar to Gens Ace.

Here is a video I shot today. I was using a hatcam and it was out of position and the camera kept going out of focus. But anyways, I put the video up. It shows the power and agility of the 500X

Default Videos of the 500x

Wow, great flying. All we're missing now is Bert Kammerer doing "nothing technical, just some low smack"

Yes it is great package. The power and agility is top notch. I am not just saying this because I am a Team Horizon member. I have owned many helis in the past and this heli is at par in flight performance as the more expensive boutique helis. Many people will not like that statement, but it is, and it a BNF! how crazy is that!

Nice

What do you call them flash figure 8 manoeuvres? Knife edge figure 8's? And how do you start to learn them? Probably my most favorite move. Love it when you see them at high speeds

Thanks!

They are merely high speed funnels inverted and upright. You first practice getting the upright funnel lets say clockwise. After you master that, start practicing inverted funnels the opposite direction in this example counter clockwise. You need to be really comfortable with your funnels to a point you can get into them easily. Then to put them together you practice the transition. I always like to transition going away from me so you do not make a mistake and have the heli fly towards you. It takes time and what I noticed is when you have the funnels mastered, the transition is fairly easy.

Hope I gave you something you can work on

Thanks for the reply... Im a long way off inverted funnels as ive only just started to sim upright funnels and they are less than easy on the eye lol. Mine tend to be faily tight rather than a nice sized circle... im learning to open them up a little. and i cant for the life of me perform knife edge circuits or 8's EDIT (i just found out they are called Hurricanes)

But yes you have given me something to work on over the cold winter months.
