Default Main Gear/Shaft glue?

When I bought it new there was some black "glue" on the main shaft under the main gear.
To keep the main gear in corret position.

Can you buy this any where?

Thanks!

I think it is very similar to Liquid Tape, available at Home Depot and probably similar stores. Liquid tape works well because I have to scrape some of it off when I do want to remove the gear.

You can use a bunch of stuff for that:
  • Caulking (latex or silicone, any color)
  • Goop (or Shoe Goo or whatever they call it now a days)
  • Elmer's white glue (or Carpenter's yellow)
  • Hot glue gun
There's really nothing special about the black factory stuff.

Default Bees wax or R/C56

I cannot say whether it works on helis, but bees wax is a superb adhesive for non permanent joints. R/C 56 was desighned to glue canopies onto R/C aircraft only drying to a high tach non permanent bond. With my helis i would use bees wax. Good luck.

I don't think so but the other recommended "adhesives" are easier to remove in the further if need be.

I CA my main gear on too. It works fine and comes apart too just fine.

The gear fits fine with no glue. I think the reason they put that dab on there is to balance the main shaft, not to hold the gear on. The main shaft in the nano is perfectly balanced except for the main gear's flat. The rubber would solve this.

I've had metal parts completely demonlished by something that was out of round before in the rotating assembly. Balance is nice even though not necessary.
