Default tail drift during forward flips

When doing forward stationary flips, starting at a direct "tail in" position, the tail ends up not directly pointing away from me when hovering inverted, but actually pointing to the left. (nose is right, tail is left). I've always had this problem with the 401, but not with the 611. Is this just an inherent issue with the 401? fwiw, the tail doesn't drift at all in stationary hover. No trim is on the rudder either.
please help.

Is the engine bogging? That could be slowing down the tail rotor.

yeah of course a little bit, this isn't a 90. I don't like to lean out the motor too much, and I can't run a zingin' headspeed because I can't afford the metal head right now, so I'm spinning about 1850.

I always got a bit of tail drift in flips with my 401's, my buddy Wes did too, but it went away when he went to the 611. Mine went away when I switched to the CSM 720.

If you do a straight up climb-out, do the heli climb straight?

I had this issue, it was problem with the heli didnt climb straight, wasnt an issue when flying (corrected it without thinking about it) but when flipping, that caused the tail to end up at 10 oclock when doing a back-flip to nose in inverted.

(in my case it was enpoints on the swash that was not correct setup)

If you're bogging your engine you might try a little throttle to swash mixing.
