Hi Bob,
What is the difference between building Trex 500 and Trex 500 ESP? P.S. Greetings from Russia! |

Hi AndyBK
There are different T500 models (GF & CF) but in general the ESP has got a torque tube as opposed to the belt driven tail rotor on the other models and the standard ESP package includes all CF and 3xDS510 servos. The build videos of Finless Bob is for standard T500 and he has extra videos showing the torque tube build. |

Thanks dvillijs,
I hope there will be no problems with 500 ESP building. |

Hi AndyBK
If you watch Finless Bob's videos and build with him so to speak you can almost fly it as built (little setup's to be done). I built 500ESP with Finless Bob's videos and you will have no problems. |

I answer myself to my question in post# .
Bob made a video to build ESP torque tube boom, but in the Trex-500 Nitro conversation thread: |

Dear Bob,
Just a quick question. On your 450 Pro videos you mention a tail geometry problem with the 450 and have a specific video to solve this problem (basically you suggest to flip the grips on the tail). I wonder if this is also an issue on the trex 500? Thanks for your time. |

TREX 550 3G
I have always follow Bob's videos on new builds. Do you know of or recommend a build video for the 550 3G? I'm particularly interested in the placement of the 3G electronics and the setup.
Thanks.

E550
Bob, I was looking for a build video for the 550E 3G. Is the 550 similar enough to the 500 so that this 500 build video will do the job?
Thanks! |

Use the 600E and 500 and it should get you there. It build more like the 600E except the servo mounting and setup is more like the 500.

Oh come on now... the Align manuals are pretty good. Ever build a GWS airplane?

Trex 500 with futaba gY 401 configuration
I have a doubt about configuration of Trex 500 with gyro futaba 401.
This gyro has the same servo limit for both direction. In your video is shown that at tail slider center the tail picth is zero degree. The horn servo is straigt when the tail servo is centered and tail slide is centered with zero degree tail pitch. The gyro used solid-g has different limits for both directions right and left. In case of futaba gy401, if tail pitch is zero degree at center, the maximum left tail pitch and maximum right tail pitch would be equal. The servo limit are the same for both directions. Normally the maximum tail pitch right and left are different due to presence torque force induced by main rotor. How could be better solved this question? Thank you. Congratulations for excelent videos! Andre Brazil |

If you will be wanting to use rate mode for anything, the setup is a little more complicated, but with the 401, it is sufficient to center the slider, set the limit, and run it in heading hold mode.

Thank you Jasmine.
I agree with your information. A person built my Trex 500 has configured the zero degree tail pitch corresponding to tail servo horn straight angle position. The gyro is futaba GY401 and it has the same limit for both sides. Aparrently there is no servo buzzer at both sides. Acording person built my heli, Trex 500 has travel throw of tail slide centered at zero tail pitch. I consider strange this Then I saw the Trex 500 builder finless video at beggining of this topic. He says that tail slide center is tail pitch zero degree. Maybe this condition only verifies when using a gyro with diferent limits for each side. In this video is used a Solid-G gyro that has different limit for each side. I would like to confirm if my understanding is correct? Thank you. |
