Question KBDD Tail rotor on Nano CPX - Better??

Hi,

I'm still waiting on my LHS getting my Nano in stock, but I've noticed that in quite a few of the pics I'm seeing of the Nano CPX many people have replaced the stock tail rotor (mCPX v2) with what looks like the KBDD tail rotor.

Are you guys finding that the KBDD tail rotor holds even better than the stock v2 rotor?

Thanks!!

take the unecessary stock fin off and you will have absolutely no tail problems

Thanks for the tip mate That's some real nice flyin your doing there in your video with your Nano BTW!!

I'm still very much a learner at this stage though, so I still kinda need that tail fin as a visual aid. Most evenings I'm practising on Phoenix in the sports hall with the Trex 250 on stock (sim) settings, got the DR set to 100%, Exp 18% on my DX6i and I'm finding that a handfull. It flips on a dime, but I find it's not very stable.

I still crash a lot just trying backwards flight & pretty much anything inverted. I fly the mCPX when I can, but I only get the time and access to a good flying area once a week, but it's better than nothing.

Mostly I'm just wondering why so many people are swapping out the tail rotor for the KBDD one when by all reports the tail holds so well with the stock tail rotor.

The stock tail rotor holds fine to me. Honestly I can't tell a difference between it and the KBDD. However with the pink KBDD it just helps so much with visibility/orientation. Plus I had it laying around from the mcpx. So much easier to see. It is for sure more durable as well

Doubtful. The lighter mass and comparable area meant that the V2 blade mcpx blade (what's on the Nano) better than the Kbdd. The visability of black tail blades and mains for that matter is pretty crappy. Why don't blade offer whites?

I actually found the solo pro 125 tail blade NE400035 to be almost identical in performance to the V2 and it's white.

Hopefully I can run that tail blade and shortened 125a white mains on my Nano.

You can use the coloured mcpx tail blades too.

I am running the KBDD MCP X Tail Rotor and skids on mine, specifically so that I can see it better.

I think the tail holds a bit better too.

I'm now looking for a white tail-blade for my NCPX-500 for a more scale appearance. Which is best? Will the KBDD's from the MCPX work well?
And when will KBDD have colored, or white blades for the Nano?

The Nano uses the mCPX tail motor and rotor. Anything available for the mCPX should work fine. Though I can't trust KBDD's stuff after seeing some of the stretching issues on the 450X-size tail blades, and trying the mCPX mains out against the stockers. Definite downgrade.

Have you tried re-painting one with white model paint? Might add a little weight, but better than nothing, right?

I had the yellow kbdd tail blade on for about a day but went back to the stocker. I know have stock colored blades in the mail. I like the color better purely for visability. I think the stocker works marginally better but that's just my opinion.

Stock weight is .15g, kbdd is .2g or 33% heavier and that's a rotating part which effects performance more than a stationary heavier part. It will be harder for the tail motor to increase speed of the heavier rotor to keep the tail locked in in a bogging situation.

Mine seems to be tail heavy as well so a heavier tail blade makes that worse. From what I've seen, small increases in weight can really change the way this little heli flies. I don't know that I will do any mods to it unless they reduce weight unless it is a bl mod that may add weight while still increasing the power to weight ratio.

Just switched back to the stock tail blade today just for some testing and it definitely works better than the KBDD to me. Sucks I cant get a bright pink stock tail blade. Guess I will just order some yellow and green because I can't see the black at all.

I know this is an old post, but if it helps I have noticed that the KBDD tail rotors are stiffer and don't wash out after a hundred or so flights. The stock nano tail rotor gets flimsy over time and starts to feather. You will hear an odd "whooshing" sound and notice less tail response. I've never had a KBDD tail rotor do this.

KBDD mCPX tail rotors will direct-fit the Nano CPX...and white is available

So is red - gold - silver - or any other sharpie marker color (ask Me how I know this)
