Have you checked out the flybar threads? There are quite a few variants a few of us have come up with.
Yep! Thanks for the tip. I had completely forgot about that thread.

There's a lot of info and it will take some time to go through the thread so I'll probably be quiet for a while now

Thank's for the pics liftbag.

By the way...
...Is it only me that's having some problems with the size of the pictures tonight?
It seems that all pictures in the threads are fullsized tonight and not scaled down to a more appropriate size.
Edit:
It looks like the picture-problem's been solved, because I don't have any problems with them anymore.

Default My tricked out MSR

Hi,

New to the forum. I have been flying MSRs for a while and love them. It's the perfect indoor helicopter. I was a little bored with all of the snow here and I spent a little time and tricked this one out with a bunch of MicroHeli aluminum parts.

It's really flying very well. You can feel the weight difference when you fly, but it is rock solid and does very well.

Rick

Love the canopies airworks. They are what E-Flite should do in the first place.

Am a lurker here. Don't have an MSR but a Nine Eagles Solo Pro

They look really nice, but I can't help thinking "easter egg" when I see them, don't know why...

well these particular skid weighed in at 1.8 grams, but cut them down a bit(tip broke on a hard bank) now they weigh 1.6...that msr is all bling...doesnt fly that well and if i made it fly the way i like i to, i'd get about 3-4 minutes out of it...nice work on you canopy's....you wouldn't by any chance willing to part with any of your work would you? im planning on building a modified msr with all the faster flying and acrobatical mods...but i want the bird to stand out...are they much heavier do to the paint?

Here are mine & my rig -

The blue one is for indoor flying, while I have the orange one set up on the longer links for better outdoor performance - and better visibility with the color

The canopies are custom made by me out of Duralar acetate sheets and spray painted on the insides... I went for a kind of retro feel 'cause that's the kind of guy I am... Anyway, they weigh about the same as the stock canopies, are super durable and don't alter the flight characteristics at all.

I think I may spring for some of the "performance parts" next on the orange one - any recommendations are appreciated.

Also, I'm a newb - here and to the hobby - and would love to hear from anyone in the Atlanta metro about how to get networked in locally...

Cheers!

BTW, no photoshop trics here.

In the first pic, there's a foam indoor plane in the background.

I have two mSRs, one for inverted flight only, with x-treme productions counterclockwise blades of a MCX. Works great.

I can confirm this. I had some problems with wobbles, but I solved by shortening main blades.

Nice tip, how much did you shorten them ?
Or even better, what is the remaining length from bolt hole to blade tip ?

These are my 2 mSRs, completely indentical, besides the blades of course.

I had file off 3 mm from the blade tip maintaining the same profile.
The line parallel to the leading edge of the blade measures 77mm from bolt hole to blade tip.
