the piston pin has been fixed with the new piston.

the retains still come out even with the new part number. if OS can fix that this motor would be a good motor.

That's my experience, too. No probems any more with a slipping piston ring since the new piston design.
So the only thing to be solved seems to be the piston pin retainers. Obviosly OS is aware of that issue 'cause they allready changed the retainers to another part number. But even the new retainers are still to sloppy in the piston groove. So they have to change that once more. I can't imagine that this is really such a big deal to change the retainers to a working design. Hopefully the use of the OS 91 clips is a temporary workaround for that issue.

I really hope that they solve that last issue 'cause it will be the first light weight gas engine for smaller helis that makes a lot of fun. I know the zenoah engines are proven design and powerfull but they are so huge and heavy....
So having a smaller alternative would be great.

regards Dennis

I've been following this motor for over a year now. I haven't heard of this problem coming up in more than 3 engines at this point.

Besides me, who else has had a wrist pin retainer fall out on their gt15hz?

So when I get this engine back from OS should I pull it apart and put the OS 91 clips in it or should I just fly it?

do you guys add any ethanol killer to the gas that you run with the GT15HZ like star tron Enzyme fuel treatment?

Really, I have asked many time for some one that has gotten at least 5 gal for fuel through this engine. NOT one reply back. The best I have heard so far is almost 2 gals. However that took 2 rebuilds to get there.

Again I ask has ANYONE gotten 5 gal of fuel through one of these engines.

I have been running ethanol free fuel.

It seems most people that ran this engine last year quit when the piston ring retainer fell out. My question was regarding the wrist pin retainer falling out. What seems to be a new problem, but only with a handful of us.

The issue with hearing feedback from just helifreak, is that not everyone who flies this engine is a member on this forum board.

The installation of the OS 91 clips is just an idea of mine. I will try this when my new parts arrive here. Your decision if you do the same. I think it is worth a try.

I didn`put anything in the fuel but oil.

regards
Dennis

PS: They are really difficult to install! Removing is easy with a long small pair of pliers.

I would just fly it, as is. That way if it happens again you can still point the finger at OS.

Got my engine back have 16 flights on it. It's running really good but I noticed.a little fuel leak around were the fuel pressure regulator plate is. Should i be concerned about this? I really don't want to send it back to japan again.

I can't say if it's an issue or not, but the carb on my 15HZ has zero leaks.
