Your quite welcome, but you'll soon learn there is not a lot to learn, and any questions feel free to ask

I am still just trying to figure out a way to run it (and my gyro, obviously) with a 6 channel receiver (6110e). I would like to be able to........ set it up for: off, flight mode 1, and flight mode2, using a three position switch (idle up).

I am using MS Paint trying to come up with a decent wiring diagram and also trying to figure out how it is all going to be programmed in my DX7.

your gyro gain lead will be removed from your Rx and installed into SV04 of the avionics computer,
"Actual "gain value is now inputted through the CPII to your gyro once setup with the programmer

Now you have an open channel on your Rx

Here's how I have the mechanical setup now. The quick setup seemed very straight forward and intuitive. There were no head scratchers during that. Can't be 100% sure, but I don't suspect there's any problem in that realm.

Might consider moving the main sensor further back on the boom, and make sure that both have as clear line of sight as possible

I'll pick up an extension today and move the main sensor back to the horizontal stabilizer.
Still, can't help but wonder why setups similar to mine seem to be working ok, as in the video above. But I'll eliminate all possibilities.

+1

@Bri Also, (if you have CPII's ON/OFF input now connected to the vacant gain (aux/gear) slot of your RX), be sure to setup your gyro gain to its maximum ends in your TX (i.e. 0% - 100%). And if I understand correctly, you could then use your gyro gain to control the sensitivity of CPII, since CPII will alter it's sensitivity to incremental changes to its ON/OFF input.

I think you will want to go to your TX settings and set gear to gear if you can. On the DX6i/7 you can do that. It was probably set to gear to gyro and then you adjusted your gyro gain in the gyro screen. After you set gear to gear, the gyro screen will no longer be available. Go to the servo end point adjustments to adjust the gear end points.

Well my IRNet programmer gave up the ghost today. Just sorta blinked out and then nothing, so I guess I won't be doing much until I get another one ... if FMA ever gets back to me. What's that rule of heli stuff? .. If it's not one thing it's another?

Yep, replaced them. Tried two fresh new sets. Comes on real dim for a few moments then nothing, just blank. Thing that urked me about it is I just got the hardware set up perfectly per your advice. After 4 days, weather and overcast finally broke for a perfect day, but no programmer

If you have the CP setup the way you want it, you don't have to use the programmer to check it each time.
It's been weeks and weeks since I've used my programmer and I fly several times a week.

I spoke to Howard about your programmer today, so he is aware of the issue, suggest you try emailing him
