Default nav lights

I have an 450 size Align Hughes 500E fuselage and want to install nav lights .

Any recommendations for a kit that will fit inside the fuselage ?

I did a search of 450 size nav lights and all of the recommended source

sights were 2012 or older

Any new sources for nav lights sources ?

Thanks !

I bought a set of lights thinking they would just plug into the Brain2 and life was good. Bzzzt, wrong answer. The fbl has only servo outputs (duh), so the lights must have electronics to convert the servo signal. You can either buy something like a PicoSwitch (https://www.dimensionengineering.com...cts/picoswitch) or a full-up light set from RCA (scaleflying.com), etc. Both approaches work - BTDT.

NFI, etc.

Their lights look impressive, but you must have much deeper pockets than I :-)

Bobby, I laud your enterprising spirit - build your own. You're a man after my own heart. I bought some LEDs and hookup wire from Modeltrainsoftware.com He has a good selection of 3mm and 5mm LEDs. I bought the 3mm for my 450 MD500E and the 5mm for my 550 class Bell 206. Add the PicoSwitch to control 'em, resisters and a battery and you're there. Go for it!

On the 450 MD500 E I will be using the 5mm led for the rear and bottom flashing led and the 3mm leds will be for the running lights on the end of the landing skids

If I install a white flashing light on top it will be a 5mm. And a 5mm white led for the white front landing light

I am in the process of drawing up a bracket in CAD for the red rear flashing light to mount on and to be affixed to the vertical tail section as seen in the attached photo

Fantastic! You're a man after my own heart: If a job is worth doing, it's worth overdoing! My "E" came with the lights already installed. I didn't change them as I had to mod the fuse for the mechanics. It also came with black scale blades, which are invisible when running, so I've detoured to paint stripes on them. (Didn't mean to hijack this thread)

Keep up the great work and pls keep posting here.
