Default back to v 4.0.

I did not have any luck with v. 5.0 on my 3GX. Not that it was terrible, the 450L flew fine but i had the servo-twitch someone else had mentioned in other posts. I had the tail-servo doing some weird stuf ocationally but not in a hazardous way. It was weird and i could not get rid of it. So i flashed back to v. 4.0 and ran thru the setup and the servo-behavior was normal again. Im sure there are no bindings and the tailblades are a little loose - theres no major tail-vibes. It flies great with v. 4.0 again - great!

I loved the 3GX, it worked as long as you put the time into getting it dialled in and give it plenty of power as it’s power hungry. The constant chasing settings got to me in the end and I just switched both the T-Rex550 and the T-Rex250 to Spartan VX1n. Out of the box it flies better than the 3GX all the problem I had on the 3GX has gone, this thing just flies better than the 3GX out of the box and it can only get better once I get time to dial it in properly.

Do yourself a favour get a different flybarless unit and save all the headaches.

Heh, same here. My 3GX is still on the 600N as that flies ok, but I never could get the 250 to fly properly despite hours and hours of tuning with the 3GX.

I tried everything I could think of, then finally gave in and tried a Spartan VX1e. The first flight with the default settings was better than it'd ever been with the 3GX!!!

When it works the 3GX is ok, but its totally outclassed by a lot of units out there now days.

I hear you. Yes, i got an iKON on my 600 and love it. Still got a flybar 550.

The 3GX came with my 450L and i had no doe to buy something better.

This coming spring im gonna be a happy owner of an Vario Robinson R22 scale heli. And a Spartan VX1 is something im leaning to .. or maybe a Beast. But the Spartan supports 4 servo Swash 90* setup. The iKON does not.
Also, i really like Castle's ESC's and planning a 160HV for the scale project with and AR9110 (it has LiPo backup) which eliminates the need for a powerbox. Perfect for HV servos.
But my 450L is keeping the 3XG for now - it flies great now, but i was blown away of the easiness the iKON setup was. I did not even use the advanced menu much. The "wizard" setup flew amazing without any hassle.

But a question ... is the stock 450L ESC not sufficient ? My 450L is all stock. I don't fly 3D. But i don't hope i get an brownout because of the ESC is to small. There's no soft start on the stock ESC .. only thing i miss. Sometimes after having flown the other helis with soft-start i just quickly move the stick to 50-55% and see my 450L making a pirouette on the ground - habits are hard to to break. ;0)

yes, the stock 450L does have soft start.. mine does! it was not set for soft start from the factory, but you can set it for soft start! it works great.

So true.........................

Unfortunately I've got three of'em on different birds and my latest bout with V5 resulted in back-flashing it to V3.

Align,

1) what's with all those parameters that contradict each other sometimes ? or are
downright useless. (slide em up or down and NOTHING happens)
ie. Elevator Flip Rate controls roll? The way I know it is: elev. controls cyclic pitch
(nick in real heli lingo) and ailerons control roll.

2) on the software, can you make some type of servo trim to take horns to 90° at mid-
stick. 3Gx doesn't like subtrim on Tx.

3) what's with the out-of-human-control elevator response ?

Thanks
